HIV and AIDS Talk on TV....
« on: May 14, 2014, 10:36:55 am »
While strolling by the sound and moving picture panel (TV) at home recently, I caught the following HIV and AIDS discussions.

Both discussions gave me pause to note that despite all the crap going on these days, there is an effort to dispense sensible and correct information in such TV formats.

Jim Parsons (Big Bang Theory TV show) was on David Letterman discussing Larry Kramer's The Normal Heart:

Donald Sterling (Basketball Team-Clippers Owner), interviewed by Anderson Cooper, made a slam against Magic Johnson talking about AIDS. Anderson Cooper corrected him on the difference between HIV and AIDS:

The comment Sterling made about Magic Johnson was appalling . He said Magic should fade into the back ground and be ashamed he has acquired HIV . I was happy that they did discuss stigma about HIV because I was afraid it would go unaddressed .

Spike Lee was spot on when he said Mr Sterling picked on the wrong brother . I have been reading social media sites where this is being discussed along the the Gay NFL player . It is amazing how many people are bewildered and confused about what free speech really is . They are crying loudly and are feeling victimized by the LGBT community and minority's because we have the gall to defend ourselves and seek protections and or equality .

They cant grasp the new reality that their right to be bigoted and homophobic comes at a price and has consequences .

I think this is the corrected link for the Jim Parsons interview.

Saw the Sterling interview yesterday, I think dementia is setting in...
