I am starting a new thread for our Monthly Virtual Gathering. Previous threads:

Purpose/Scope:
The Monthly Virtual Gathering is a social meeting open to anyone living with HIV. Although we also discuss serious topics, including Living with HIV, this is primarily a social meeting—a chance to meet others living with HIV, catch up, talk about life, relax, joke, and laugh.

Frequency:
Monthly

How to join?
Sign up by sending me a private message (PM). Once you have signed up, you will be sent email invites to the upcoming meetings. Video conferencing is through Google Meets; sharing your video feed is optional.

It was good seeing you again, some tears and laughter were shared.

Topics discussed: Illegal Solar panels, USSR, Elections US, Mental health, Mental health & HIV, Self Care came up again & Holiday Plans. However, the main topics were Alan & Life in general.

So glad to see you today too, Marin. While I hate that we had to give you the bad news about the loss of our mutual friend Alan, it was good to hear how you have been getting along....the bad stuff and the good stuff. Best wishes with the job, your studies, and your boyfriend.

I'm glad I was able to join the call as I wasn't able to make the last few. So sad not to see Alan but then again he was their isn spirit. Always a good chat and sure is intresting on how we make it to some of the topics.

WooHoo! Our last get-together for the year!

I have absolutely loved having these monthly gatherings. Not only have we had some really interesting conversations (really interesting sometimes. LOL) but I have made some good friends. Between calls, I do think of all of you and wonder what you're up to.

Hopefully, all our regulars can show up for a while, and we would LOVE to have some new people stop in and chat. If you have a little bit of free time Saturday, or think you might have the time, make sure to send Jim a message so you can get the link to our call.

that should be the "11th of Jan"

Yeah, I got lots of travel stories, and I met loads of people from different South American nations, I've been broadening my cultural horizon over the holidays and I also stopped drinking, a total pain in the ass but it had to happen.

After catching up on holidays and snow levels, we had an interesting chat about AI and social media before talking quite some time about meds, healthcare, insurance systems, and things learned through the experience of living with HIV for an extended time.

All in all, it was like our gatherings smashed with our peer support meetings! It was both informative and friendly. See y'all next time.
