Possible HIV? Scare :(
« on: February 06, 2012, 06:25:47 pm »
Hello

I'm at the point of not being able to sleep with worry, I have an appointment with my sexual health clinic but that's not for a couple of days. I would be so grateful if anyone could help or possibly put my mind at ease :(

History
Around 12 months ago i had protected oral sex (gave and received) and partial unprotected anal sex (gave)  - this lasted for around 10 secons and my penis was only inserted about 4 cm (before i released i need a condom and pulled out!!)

About 5 weeks ago I also had unprotected oral sex (gave and received).

Around 3 weeks ago I had unprotected oral sex (received only).

I know i have been very stupid.

Symptoms
About 12 months ago i noticed my anal area was itching and there was a slight discharge with a foul fish type odour. The odour has cleared up but to this day this is itching and a very slight discharge. I dont itch all the time, usually when im hot.  When it does occur the itching is very intense and for relieft i have to itch to the point where i am sore and can bleed (skin breakage). I have to wash each time i itch. I have used anusol mainly to stop the itching - i do not beleive i have hemmoroids from self eximation. (i know i should go see my GP but im very nervous)

About 12 month ago i noticed my lymph noids in my groin were raised (still are to this day). My GP and hospital did every test (including STD & HIV)/scan posible with nothing showing up as wrong. (i did not mention the anal itching/discharge at the time)

About two weeks ago I noticed there was white flaky skin on my penis shaft. A red shiny line also appeared on the shaft, around 5cm long. The white flaky skin disappeared a couple of days ago, the line is still just about visible. During the time there was white flaky skin, any friction to the penis caused a burning sensation. I put this down to a fungal infection.

Today I noticed two dark red blood blisters inside my mouth on, on the inside of my cheek. Once is around 3mm in diameter (slightly raised), the other around 2mm in diameter (not raised). These are next to each other. Close by is also a white raised blister (could be an ulcer), about the same size.

Over the last week have been feeling very tired. My left eye always seems to be bloodshot, and the skin under my eye lid looks bruised because its very dark.

Last night i had the worst headache I think i have ever suffered. I believe it was a tension headache - the worst part was the pain across the back of my neck - I couldn't move for about an hour because the pain just increased in intensity. The headache went away quite suddenly after about an hour since it started. As I'm writing this can the feel the headache starting again now (lower back or head)

At first i thought I may have thrush and this may have spread to my mouth, but over the last couple of days i have been researching and found out what i have are possibly early symptoms of HIV.

Note - have no loss in apatite, no fever as far as i'm aware.

To sum up:

  • Anal itching / dischage / odour (no longer any odour)
    Swollen groin lympy nodes
White flaky skin on penis shaft / red line on penis shaft
Two dark red blood blisters in mouth & single white blister/ulcer
    Tiredness, bloodshot eyes
    Tension headaches

Does anyone have any ideas? Please?

thank you :(

Nothing you are reporting is a for-real risk for HIV transmission. That "dipping" incident from a year ago is hardly a risk. But just to be sure you can get tested at anytime now and get a conclusive and I expect a negative result.

Your other activities were not risks for HIV. You ought to be discussing your symptoms with your doctor. There is nothing HIV specific about any of them and that's not surprising since I don't see anything that put you at risk. However, other STDs are much easier to acquire than HIV, so I suggest you check things out with your doctor.

You need to know for the future that as long as you consistently use condoms everytime for anal (and vaginal) intercourse you will be well protected against the sexual transmission of HIV. When done unprotected those are the only confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV.

I don't expect anything other than a negative result.
