Where are you gonna spend Christmas? 😁
« on: December 14, 2019, 02:40:23 am »
It's the end of my 2nd decade and I'm really excited to spend this Christmas as best as possible. I will be going to my grandparents in Albania and my brother is coming from England to spend both Christmas and New year's with us.
Usually I never was as excited for this holiday, now I just wanna sing Mariah all day long haha.
Where will you spend your holidays, what nice stuff will you eat/drink? 😋

When I asked my dad for a gift,he would go to the supermarket and get bread and cheese and present it as something to be excited for . Eventually, the brass band I  played tuba in, payed  me 20 euros for every concert at the age of 13 so I bought myself stuff haha.

My partner and I are spending the holidays in Curacao. Was so fed up with the cold weather in Amsterdam, nice to walk around in shorts and t-shirt.

Once again I will spend Christmas and New Year at work in the Sahara desert. No decorations, fancy food and certainly no alcohol and parties. And unless things have changed since last month, no English speaking TV. Usually 12 to 15 hrs per day.
Bah humbug.

Enjoy yours
Dave

Isn't there a way you can at least get a sweet treat? Even at work? I mean, even though they're Muslim they do celebrate new years. Wish I could just give you some melomakarona (very delicious honey glazed sweets we make in Greece).

Grasshopper I was always jealous of people who did their holiday somewhere warm. I'll spend my time in the cold mountains 😢.

When I was younger I used to like the cold weather and snow....now I hate it. But then again it's 30+C here during daytime and it takes some time adjusting to the heat.
Just made plans for Christmas: BBQ = no slaving in a hot kitchen, and New Years Eve a BBQ again with lots of fireworks. New Years day evening we fly back to Amsterdam and back to work on the 3rd of january.
