Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE

I am from AUSTRALIA...I had sex last night with a prostitute.. She is a heterosexual.. First she gave me a massage and then SHE PROVIDED THE CONDOM AND SHE PLACED IT ON MY PENIS AND GAVE ME A BLOWJ*B.. Then With the same condom i HAD VAGINAL INTERCOURSE FOR 4-5 MINUTES.. Then she removed the condom with her hand.. I immediately went to bathroom .. I washed my penis .. I peed and washed over and over again.. I hate myself after all this.. I DINT CHECK THE CONDOM AFTER SEX .. AND SHE PROVIDED ME THAT CONDOM.. DID THE CONDOM GOT SCRATCH WHILE SHE SUCKS ME OFF? OR MAYBE SHE PROVIDED A CHEAP QUALITY CONDOM AS IT WILL COST HER LESS..  I dint check the condom after the intercourse and i am very very worried.. I am a circumsiced male .. And i message her that ''Are you disease free please tell me please''.. She dint replied it too.. I am worried to hell :-( .. HELP ME DOC PLEASE
One more thing to add ''IS ONE CONDOM EFFECTIVE? OR TWO CONDOMS ARE BETTER TO PREVENT HIV''?
Is cheap quality condoms are less effective? Do you recommend me a single test after some times to put my mind at ease?

Condom breakdown are easily known and noticeable? a single hole in condom can tear the condom? AND Do hiv virus are deep inside vagina?

Relax . You had protected sex and that is not a risk . Sex workers use condoms to protect themselves and not you ... so they use reliable condoms . They use them not only to protect from HIV but also to offer some protection from other stds .

Getting your dick sucked is not a risk condom or not and you would have known if the condom had broke . Condoms are designed to leave no doubt when they fail .
Also ... condoms are for single use ... one at time .

You did not have a risk for HIV so you are worrying over nothing ... you had protected sex .

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Although you did not have a risk and do not need to test for this specific incident , anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Jeff thank you so much.. Thanks so much for the quick reply.. I had this exposure on 17th MAY .. Can i get tested to ease my mind? I am a young boy studying in Australia and don't want to mess up my life :-( :-( .. Believe me i hate myself after all this.. WHAT A SHAME!..I AM 24x7 IN WORRIES AND LOOKING SYMPTOMS IN MY BODY :-((...  Jeff which test u recommend for me? Is 4th gen DUO at 28 days are 95-99% conclusive? Jeff you really think that i am on safe side bro?.. I am a circumcised 18 year old guy ..  And Is HIV Virus is deep inside vagina? M a overweighted guy with only 4.5 inch of penis ( is this length enough to touch virus in vagina? ) .. THANKSS SO MUCH BROTHER I APPRECIATED EVERY SINGLE ANSWER FROM YOU..

For the love of god calm down . You did not have a risk and do not need to test for this incident . If you had a risk I would beg you to test but you did not so chill out and put this behind you .

Just get your regular sexual health checkups and continue to use condoms for anal and vaginal sex and you will avoid HIV .

Sorry for the trouble but i am worried to death..Thank you so much Jeff..Last thing.. Just letting you know that i also ejaculated inside her vagina.. Is this make any change? And is Duo test is conclusive at 4 week mark? once again thank you so much and sorry for all the trouble..

You had protected sex so it was no risk . It does not increase or decrease your risk or better said it does not matter if you cum or not .

You do not need HIV testing but if you had a risk the window period is 6 weeks past any possible exposure and again at 3 months to confirm it .

You are not giving us trouble, I just hate to see you so worried over a ...
NO RISK SITUATION .
