I'm probably outing myself as a nerd but it was announced today that Ben Affleck is going to play Batman replacing Christian Bale inthe next movie.

Disappointed

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

I heard it yesterday, and I thought it was a rumor.  Wasn't his performance in Dare Devil critiqued harshly?  I would assume they did plenty of screen tests, with him in costume, but I still can't picture it.  But, if Mr. Mom can do it, then I guess he can. Were they needing someone fast, or it would delay production?  Did he have something written into another contract, that he could play the part?

Perhaps he will do a good job.  I thought his performance in that bank robbery movie (can't think of name) was good.

Is this really "the next" Batman movie? Just saying its Batman AND Superman.

I'm fine with it cause Ben Affleck is a hunk and with his age he's a good choice to weigh the character...

Anyone bother to watch that weird "Top of the Lake"?  There's an Australian named Thomas M. Wright who is so delicious, and a bit in the Ben Affleck mould.

I want to see more of him....

As if it matters who plays Batman, when everyone will be watching Henry Carvill as Superman.

I did; I liked it. The scenery was beautiful (landscape - filmed in New Zealand - and some manscape) and it was quirky enough to hold my interest. The Returned was another recent, quirky program that I liked, and it's coming back for a second season. Top of the Lake was a self-contained mini-series.
