Talk to your doctor I would say.

What is good and needed for me might not work well for you. For all we know your kidneys could be fine or on brink of collapse hence talk to your doctor about this.

Hello Scarino ,
I`m on Genvoya and had been taking protein powders.Went in for usual bloods and had raised kidney values. They asked me had i been taking any other drugs which i had not and then the subject of PP`s came up.It seems they are well known to the HIV medical community for giving higher kidney values so they asked me to stop them for a couple of weeks and to come back in for more bloods.I did and my bloods went back to normal.
They did say that if i wanted to use them to do so 1 month on,1 month off.I had been a little heavy on them with 50 grms per serving and taking them 3 times a day so was really making kidneys work hard. It`s also another consideration that the body,in some cases can only digest 25 grms of protein in a sitting.
I think you might be safe enough with just using them post workout and eating whole foods the rest of the time although the Doc has the final word obviously.

Hope all goes well,P.

People can only use 30g of protein for muscle repair/ building per meal. All the rest gets broken down for energy and puts a strain on kidneys and the liver.

Supplement if you feel your really must, but use smaller serves.
