adult disabled child benifits question
« on: September 20, 2015, 01:29:50 pm »
so I been on half and half ssdi and ssi since I was 19. I was like 2 credits short of getting full ssdi which sucks because ssi has a lot of restrictions on having money in the bank and owning property. my mom is disabled now and about to get ssdi so from what I read I am eligible to get benefits using her work record.

my questions are:

1.will me getting adult disabled child benefits impact how much money she gets?

2. will I still have resource limits on money in the bank and property?

3.any idea how much adult disabled child benefits are?

im going to answer some of my own question now that I know the answer incase anyone reads this with the same questions I had.

1. no
2.still don't know
3. 50% of your parents ssdi benefit. so if your parent receives $1000 you will get $500 and your parent still gets 100% of what they are suppose to get.

update: I was approved for dac benefits it was a easy and painless process I would recommend to anybody who is : disabled before age 22, never been married, and has a parent who is retired, disabled, or passed away.

awnser to question number 2 is no resource limits.

one bad thing is I may not qualify for Medicaid anymore due to higher monthly payments. but still get medicare.
