I saw this trailer yesterday for the first time and I am also dying to see it. I generally like Tim Burton movies and this one looks great. Maybe I'll pop an extra Marinol before grabbing my seat at this film  ;)

Ohhhhhh, I am soo seeing this in the theater....but, in myworld of movies....if Tim Burton would've gotten together with Steven Spielberg.....two different and creative minds would make a perfect 'Wonderland'....in my movie world.

The trademark animation of Tim Burton-simply dark and spectacular. Counting..., March 5th, 2010. Tat's a pretty 8 months wait falling down the well...lol ;)

Alot of great movies next year, judging from all the movie trailers from iTunes. Cool.

I loved it.  I really liked the 3D.

It seems to be getting bad reviews from those not familiar with Tim Burton's film making.  I think because Disney's name is on it, they expect some happy go lucky film.

Helena Bonham Carter was great as the Red Queen.

I thought it was great too !! And Johnny Depp as the Madd Hatter !  Phenomenal !!  Once again, a nice escape from reality, if only for a two hours !! Really liked it a lot !

Sweeney Todd was a cinematic abortion and from the trailers Alice in Wonderland will be also.  Why fuck with the original when it is perfect?   Tim Burton should have stopped with Pee Wee's Big Adventure.

My first 3d/IMAX experience and it was great! The whole break dancing scene was totally unnecessary.  I was quite apprehensive with Depp as the Mad Hatter as I hated him in Wonka, but he totally pulled it off. The March Hare, the Red Queen, and the Cheshire Cat were my favorite characters.  Hathaway as Alice didn't quite have me convinced in the beginning, but as the movie went along she fit the part.  I'm going to see it again this week with my mother.

Saw it in 3D today and thought it was good. Helena Bonham Carter stole every scene as the Red Queen. She was perfect! The scene with her questioning the toads as to who ate her tarts was worth the price of admission.

Helena Bonham Carter stole every scene as the Red Queen.

I keep hearing and reading that she stole the show from Johnny Depp.

I plan to see this on Friday, once the massive crowds at the local IMAX have dissipated.

Eh, it was alright.  I actually thought it was kind of boring although I do agree Helena Bonham Carter did steal every scene. My friend told me I have high expectations. I guess I do but when I go see a movie ~ especially one I'm anxious to see ~ I simply want to be entertained....and, sad to say, with Alice in Wonderland, I wasn't.
It wasn't bad...I just didn't think it was very good. It was....alright.

Well... we seen it and didn't care for it much.
The red queen did make the movie, but Depp was just kinda "there".
Once you got use to the funny weird outfits, there was no plot and
no direction. Was this Alice in Wonderland? Or a mix of some action film and
dragon slayer film? They needed less fighting and slaying, and more nutty tea parties.
I rate films by the desire to see it more than one time.
And I think once is enough for this film.

I enjoyed THE CRAZIES, A SINGLE MAN and SHUTTER ISLAND a lot more
than Alice in Wonderland.
I now know why its only getting 3 stars from critics.

Breakdancing???????????? What in the name of....?

From what I've heard from everyone it is rather "dull but shiny" meaning boring and lackluster with bright colors and lots of action - ah, so it's another AVATAR: an excuse to expect the audience to "oooooh" and "aaaah" at CGI & 3-D mixed together like a bunch of brain-dead toddlers on cough-medicine.

I think I might just rewatch Jan Svankmajer's ALICE myself.... Maybe eventually I'll watch this just to form my own opinion.

True. You don't usually find intelligent storytelling with Hollywood circle-jerks anyway.

I think I had a problem with the actress that played Alice too. She was too "non interesting" for that part. Can u imagine if they had an Judy Garland wizard of oz type or an Shirley temple type in the part? Some actress that had real appeal of her own?
And I admit, I've never actually read or know much about the original Alice in Wonderland story. Did Alice slay a dragon and play the warrior in the original story?
Oh... I forget to add, I thought all the eye popping-poking was very weird too. I don't think I'd let my 5 year old see this film (if I had a 5 year old). Kids like to play act too much. I wouldn't want some kid to think u can pop out eyes and pop them back in. So now Alice turns out to be a cross with a dragon slayer/action film/the three stooges, flick.
Maybe I'm too hard on it... Guess I see too many movies and get too judgmental.
I should just be thankful Im well and healthy enough as to even get out to see movies.
And that fatting popcorn... :D

No she didn't.  And there was nothing about the " river of tears" from the original book.

Ugh... mostly Tim Burton© crap.  Helena is by far the best thing in the movie.  The person who plays Alice seems to have the emotional range of a tea spoon, if even that.

Burton mixes the plot, verbiage (bonus points: which 2 words did Charles Dogson/Lewis Carroll coin in the poem?) & characters of Jabberwocky with the original stories and gives the Mad Hatter a bigger role.  The end is the ultimate anti-climax and that dance so stupid it hurts.

Faithful representations of the John Tenniel illustrations from the first editions of AIW and TTL are in the 1985 British film Dreamchild.   Ian Holm plays Dodgson and Coral Browne plays 79 year old Alice & the Wonderland characters are beautifully recreated by Jim Henson's Creature Shop.   The Jabberwock isn't in the movie but the Mad Hatter, March Hare, and Dormouse are as well as the Mock Turtle and Gryphon and the Caterpillar.  As if anyone gives a shit...

Alice doesn't slay the Jabberwock but the illustration from the book shows the back of a girl who appears to be Alice dressed in armor and wielding the vorpal sword.

"Snicker-snack! Snicker-snack!" LOL
It's all a sham. Politics is a big game, same as the media - and same as religion. The point is to distract & control. If we're looking at what they tell us is the "big issue", we're not looking at what they are doing. In time, there will be different causes and different minorities to pick-on. All in the name of keeping the system going, and the people distracted.

I guess I am one of the few that really enjoyed it. Saw it with my man opening weekend and with my mother last week.  Yea, the dance is absolutely horrible, but sure is a lot better than that crap called Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
