A GOOD Liver !
« on: February 13, 2014, 07:20:51 pm »

Well a year ago the I.D. Docs told me my Liver was going down hill fast  :(

As of yesterday I was told i have a Liver any 60 year old would be proud
    to own  ;D

I'm thinking the change from Reyataz has made the difference .

Other than dealing with pain , it comes and goes ( in the night )  I am doing well .

I was down to 209 pounds , But  have gained 20 pounds back  :(

My latest blood work was WONDERFUL !     Which  is amazing  because
I went back to my old ways ,   Beer , Coffee with heavy cream and sugar .
Eating what i want . and the LABS look great !

My Husband ( BOB )   has been dealing with a broken leg & crushed foot bone  :'(     He is back walking after three months !

Winter has been rough this year . I had a bad bout of depression , seems
like Thiothixene  is helping with my gloomy mood .
    That's all  :)

That is great news from start to finish Carl!

You have been through so much with Bob and your own personal stresses. Keep it up and pass on your secrets.

It's always nice to find out your liver is a good liver. Bad livers are so obnoxious. That said...

Have you got your doc to schedule a sleep study for you? If it comes back negative then you can celebrate something else nice in your life. If it comes back positive...well, that knowledge might keep you from kicking the bucket in your sleep if you follow up and get treatment. Just saying...

Okay...enough of my happy talk...

Good to know you got some good news!
Of course it's important. It's an email...

Awesome Carl.  And who wouldn't be a little depressed after this nasty Winter we've had in the Midwest.  Even I'm looking forward to some heat, although I'll surely bitch the first time it hits 70.

Hey Carl,

That is great news about your liver. I am glad your honey is up and walking again.

I think everyone living with the bug deals with some degree of depression, glad you are being proactive.

Hope spring comes soon for you all.

  Thanks Guys ,
I asked about a sleep study , The VA Doctors don't appear
   to really care ?

I will bring it up in three months . Guess I need to be more of a drama Queen  8)

The day after I saw my Doc I came down with a horrid head cold !
It's 6 days now , so it may about over .
It always makes me feel better when my body naturally clears out a cold  :)

Yes Fisher , Please keep a spare liver in the cooler , I picked out a nice
one already  ;)

If we can get cuter Forest Rangers with moustaches to rescue us next time, I'd roast and share the liver with them!

                          Weasel  :-*

Yup , your right about the VA doctors, they really don't care, unless you have a service connected disability rating of 50% or more, if you don't, they really don't care, Im finding this out more & more as I move thru
the VA health care system  :-X

Don't wait three months. Either tell them order me a sleep study or find another doc that you've used to order one. It's not about being a drama queen. It's about looking out for your health when the caregivers won't. Go over their heads. Go to the CEO or Executive Director or whoever is in charge. Write your representative and senators. Make a big stink.

Make them fear you.

You've got nothing to lose but your life from lack of sleep. If nothing else kills you, that most certainly will.
Of course it's important. It's an email...

I'm glad things are beginning to look up for both of you Carl.

Do you see a psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse at the VA? My psychiatrist pushed for a sleep study and, the C-Pap machine has helped me to be alert on a lower dosage of medication. Take care of yourself. Hugs, Deiby :)

Oh Carl your Post was a joy to read and confirms my belief that a little bit off what you fancy does you good . Depressions are only any good when you start and continue to see the back off them , good on you for getting on and giving it the heave-ho . Spring is on its way and I hope you enjoy it after winters pains.
