Yes, my sex life has changed.  But really, you have to ask........ "what is normal?"    One persons concept of a normal sex life can be totally different than anothers.  I think expecting that your sex life will change after your HIV diagnosis.......is normal.
If you are not happy and have serious problems with your sex life, perhaps some counseling is in order.  Its always possible to talk to a doctor or get a reference to see a counselor.

My sex life got a lot better! And then I got back with my ex-  >:( :D

I actually found that I was still horny, wasn't gonna die, and that disclosing weeded out the men from the boys...

Why don't you tell us a bit more about the changes you've experienced, and maybe we can help?

During the first few months after my diagnoses my sex life increased - I actually had sex at a benefit for God's Love We Deliver in East Hampton with one of the guests of the host!  Now, I would say it is back to where it was, assuming that was normal.  Jim

sex, whats that?
2 months since I have had it, no sex drive at all but that could be due to the Temezepam I use to sleep.  Doc ran some testosterone tests though nothing back yet.

I just havent grasped it yet....stupid thing is, is I have had sex with + men long before my conversion and appreciated and enjoyed them so much more cuz of their honesty.

I answered 'yes', because I misread the question, but I really meant to answer 'no'.

Less than normal, no, more frequent and intense than normal.  Oh yeah!

When what you've worried about for so long loses its value in worry, your left with a strange sense of freedom.

It's been a while for me but then again since I started my meds I have been more reclusive and inwardly focused.  Thank goodness for porn and such but I will need to get out more since it won't be knocking on my door in suburbia.   Of course it did a couple months ago when an ex was in town and dropped by for a surprise.  I need to call him ..   ;D

I've definitely got my slutville card validated and then some lately.

My card to Slutsville was already dog-eared when I got my diagnosis. In the three years since I've been liberated from the nine-year dungeon of a horrible sex-straved relationship I've had a new one printed and it's getting slightly frayed at the edges.

What sex life?

Oh, you mean that thing I used to have once upon a time? LOL

My problem is that I can't do a random encounter. If there's not an emotional attachment there, downstairs ain't playing along - if you get my drift.
"Love is always patient and kind. It is never jealous. Love is never boastful nor conceited. It is never rude or selfish. It does not take offense and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people's sins, but delights in the truth. It is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes." - 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, adaptation in A Walk To Remember

there have been far too many painful experiences when others have decided not to be intimate, (or sometimes decided not to have any contact at all) after learing that i was exposed to the virus (tested poz) at some point, even though my viral load is undetectable and i am healthy.
also, too often i meet someone i connect with and feel there is real long term relationship potential, just to have the hope and anticipation devistated by discovery that they are neg and i am poz
having the intimacy of skin on skin anal sex with sharing of cum is extreemly important to me, which having tested poz severly limits the number of optional partners with me as a top.
so ready for a cure and effective lube which prevents transferring the virus....

i've heard rumor that as a measure to prevent transfer of the hiv virus the pharmaceutical companies that make hiv meds put a substance in the meds to seriously reduce the libido of patients who take the meds.
i wrote it off as 'urban legend'.  any pharmacists here who know the facts?
i've noticed a difference in my libido since taking meds, but so many other possible reasons why it could have happened.

Pharmaceutical companies don't need to add any extra bonus ingredient to reduce libido....
Protease inhibitor (PI)-based combination antiretroviral therapy usually takes care of that --->> damn Ritonavir!   :-\
Should ask doc to test for free testosterone level (preferably in the morning when the level is highest).

Male Sexual Dysfunction Associated With Antiretroviral Therapy
http://www.thebodypro.com/cdc/news_updates_archive/july15_02/dysfunction.html

"PI-based combination regimens for HIV came into widespread use in 1996. Because studies conducted before the PI era suggested that the incidence of sexual dysfunction increased with stage of HIV disease, a decline among patients treated with effective therapy was expected. However, preliminary reports have suggested the opposite. Results from the researchers' investigation support an association between PIs, especially ritonavir, and sexual dysfunction among men with HIV-1 infection, which is not explained by known confounders or case-detection bias related to the marketing of sildenafil (Viagra) after March 1998. Prospective investigation is needed to clarify the relationship between antiretroviral therapy and sexual dysfunction in men as well as to examine the impact of antiretroviral therapy on sexual function in women. I was too young to have a decent sex life when I seroconverted.   It's a hell of a lot better now and keeps getting so.

I don't know really. I mean yeah, it slowed down a great deal but I don't feel it is due to being poz. For me, it changed because I became more selective in the type of man I would like to have. I am a choosey lover...

I've pretty much lost my sex drive since diagnosis and all the other issues that have come with it.

I used to hook up almost every day and I've replaced my desire for sex with a hand job. I'm still in the process of understanding how to deal with this and have sex partners. My libido has not declined at all, i'm horny as hell every day.
