Attraction to transexuals
« on: September 01, 2018, 03:23:00 am »
Hi, so I am sexually attracted to MtF transexuals. I tried resisting and I stopped watching porn, but it seems to just have made it worse. Whenever my will breaks I visit a transexual prostitute, but I don't even enjoy the sex because:

1) I am terrified that the condom can break at any moment
2) Afterwards I have a really bad conscience and I count every hour until the 12 week mark when I take the HIV test
3) I am ill quite often and every time I get a flu my brain is trying to convince me that it is the ARS symptoms of HIV

When I started using PrEP it got better for a while but then I read about the guy who in 2016 got HIV strain resistant to Truvada when topping.

Do you think a psychologist could help me? Is there a medication that I could take longterm to suppress these urges?

Right ...

Having romantic or sexual attraction to transgender people is not a mental illness and, its within the "normal" range of human sexual preferences/behavior. By the sounds of it your sexual attraction might fall under some range of Gynandromorphophilia, if they are pre-op.

There is nothing wrong for you to fix.

Were there does seem to be an issue if you are asking me is with is your totally irrational and baseless fears (HIV phobia) of HIV and your utterly flawed guilt ridden thinking that there is something wrong with your sexual attraction to transgender people, when there is not.

Regarding your totally irrational HIV fears, "https://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=59123.msg" Yeah you should be taking to a mental health professional to help you learn to cope.

As for your irrational and perhaps socially conditioned thoughts that sexual attraction to transgender people is bad or an issue, yeah perhaps a good therapist can hep you with your irrational guilt

Look I wish we could help you here but your ongoing HIV phobia is not something we can support you with in this setting, the same can be said for your irrational thoughts that your sexual attraction is somehow an issue when its not.

Thank you for your message, Jim. I am not that bothered about the attraction to transgender people, it's the fear of getting infected that stresses me out. I resubscribed to the forum for 10$ just to show you that I appreciate your work.

In that case definitely talk to a therapist regarding your HIV phobia, its irrational and is having a negative impact on your normal sexual life.
