how do i meet local poz people?

How do I meet local poz people? Is there a way to search on here for location? I see people at the doctor's office but they seem ashamed and unapproachable. How can I meet other people in my area? Thanks.

ask at the ASO or clinic you go too if they know about any HIV support groups in the area.
I'm sure there are some that meet monthly or every so often. I'm sure people would be much more approachable in that type of setting

It would help if you described what your motivation was in meeting pozzies -- you know, is it just for friendship stuff or are you looking for sex, etc.

Local support groups and/or volunteering for some organization that service HIV+ people are great for meeting others for friendship. People can get annoyed at obvious horndogs hitting people up in those places, though obviously it happens anyway. If you just want sex use something on line.

Otherwise most of us don't live in Alabama so it's kind of hard to be any more specific. I mean how "local" is local?

Local as in birmingham my city. I'm looking for friends or more. I moved here not too long ago so I really don't know that many people anyway. Thanks!

Well then, I still stand by my comments. You're not going to meet any pozzies unless you get out there and do the work. You live in a metro area of 1.2 million people, there's got to be several options available.

you can certainly signup on the Poz Personal' site on here, i've chatted and met a couple people on there..  There is always the 'hookup' sites if you are looking for that, adam4adam, bbrt, manhunt.  i'm not promoting any of these, but have 'stumbled' on them from time to time  wink, wink.  Thats assuming if you are gay, if you are straight then i probably wouldn't go to any of those sites except the 'poz personal' option on here.

When we looked for fellow poz folks in my area, I went to manhunt.net and used the search feature.
There are only about 30 other poz people listed but made a good friend from it.
Problem is there are lots of freaks in there needing to be weeded through.
Reading bios helps narrow the search for what you deem as more normal or towards your taste. ;D

be careful, there are fake profiles on manhunt and adam4adam, those people only want to figure out your identity and then try to fuck things up by telling everyone.... i know from experience.....
