hello ladies
I haven't been around for a while because of my relocation from Germany and didn't have internet but its all sorted now. So much been going on within a short period of time. I met this guy and he is Mr nice, initially I never thought he had a thing for me but as days went by I realised i liked him, one thing led to the other and it came to the point that i could not resist so i decided to give him a blow job but never thought of it as a risk without a condom. We both quite enjoyed it, later on i decided to tell him why i had opted for that and told him my status as well, he wasn't fazed out at all and we continued with blow job without protection. He is ok with us being in a relationship and using protection for real sex and I can say i am comfortable and at my happiest with him. I know i was stupid not use protection in case he had something that i could pick up from him but that didn't matter at that time to me. Now I am battling with my brains wondering weather I put him at any risk, we never discussed about the blow job without a condom, does anyone know if this is a risk in terms of passing the virus to him by me giving him a blow.

If you want to put your mind at ease and educate it, you might want to dig into the lively thread about oral sex and transmission in Living With...I didn't copy over the title but it refers to oral sex and people not wanting to talk about it. There's much to read, but I'm certain your comfort level will rise.

Hi 27,
You did NOT put him at risk for hiv infection through giving him a blowjob. Not only is saliva not infectious, it also contains over a dozen different proteins and enzymes that damage hiv and render it unable to infect.
Just make sure you use condoms for intercourse. Have a read through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use them correctly and with confidence.

this is not answer to ur concern, but i had discussion with a colleague at lunch bout blow jobs
(he's bout 50yrs), well his take on blow jobs is they are just a waste of resources!!!"just put the damn thing where it belongs"his words, got me laughing off ma socks!!! and congrats on finding a nice somebody...

Yep, exactly what Ann said, you did not put him at risk !
(The debate in the other forum was about receptive oral sex --- so it would pertain to him performing oral sex on you and what that risk is/isn't.)

From what I remember about the whole HIV education courses: it is not OK to perform oral or share beverages or food if you brushed, flossed, or ate anything sharp. It can cause your gums or roof of your mouth to bleed. Which will end up flowing out along with your saliva.

I'm sorry to say whoever ran that course you took was an alarmist. You'd have to have blood gushing out of your mouth before doing any of these things was risky to others. Seriously.

Thanks ladies, so far so good my mind is at rest. Am very comfortable with my actions now, blow job will be my way forward. I am loving it.
