Welcome to Do I Have HIV?

Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Anyone who needs to post more than three messages in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum -- including past, present and future POZ Forums members -- will need to subscribe, with secure payments made via PayPal.

Risk Assessment for a recent encounter?

Last week I had a sexual encounter with another man. He said he was tested in November, is negative, and hasn't been with anyone since, but this was a one time thing and I cannot fully trust him one way or the other. We both performed unprotected oral sex on one another, he performed oral-anal on me, and we had protected anal sex in which I penetrated him. I am not worried about the anal sex since we used a condom, and through research I doubt there is any risk of HIV from the oral sex since there was no ejaculation during it other than some precum, but I do have a concern about blood. When kissing him I noticed a strong metallic smell/taste, which I thought nothing of at the time other than odd breath, but afterwards thought it could be attributed to blood in his mouth. If he did indeed have blood in his mouth, and on the chance he does have HIV, what is the risk of me contracting it from receiving oral sex (blood getting into me through the urethra) or blood getting into my anus through cuts down there as a result of past hemorrhoidal issues? I know the chance is slim in the first place because him actually being HIV+ is only a slight possibility and I'm not 100% certain about the blood, but just for my peace of mind, in the worst case scenario what is the risk here for blood transmission of HIV? A random hookup like this was a first (and will be a last) for me, and I know I'm most likely just being paranoid, but I thank you for any input you can provide.

HIV is not transmitted by kiss, you do not have an HIV concern.

I don't mean to sound rude, but did you read the rest of my post? I know HIV cannot be transmitted via kissing, but I am specifically asking about oral sex and rimming if the person performing the oral and rimming had HIV+ blood in their mouth. Unless you are inferring that performing those acts with blood in your mouth poses the same risk as kissing, which is none?

None of the activities you mentioned pose a risk for HIV. Saliva has very powerful properties that render HIV inert. You will not get it from rimming, being rimed, kissing, being kissed, having fellatio performed on you, or anything besides unprotected anal and vaginal penetrative intercourse.
