Sunny Cal MediCal Insurance Woes
« on: June 12, 2015, 07:00:04 pm »
Need some input. New to California, specifically Coachella Valley.

Happy20 year long term PWA, very health and never any issues.

Very unhappy with Medi-Cal the terrible HMO's of IEHP and Molina I have been pushed to.... Are these my only options for care? There are hundreds of decent doctors and facilities in San Diego and LA - but if I am correct I am not allow to use those with these plans.

Very disappointed with the level of "experience" i have found with those doctors willing to accept the plans. Recently had doctor order 21 vials of blood for testing - and he never looked at my recent labs I brought from NYC. Not happening.

Give me some input. Concerned my Sunny California move may be getting cloudy...

KCal--
Welcome to the boards, and to sunny southern Calfornia!  Just in time for some desert heat.
Desert AIDS Project (DAP) can help you if you live in Riverside county.  They accept IEHP, and they can help you get other benefits you're eligible to receive.
It goes like this
The fourth, the fifth,
The minor fall, the major lift,
The baffled king composing Hallelujah!

From Sunny So Cal as well...

I'm a Medi-Cal patient as well.

I insisted on being transferred to Kaiser for my health care.

I'll tell you what; "I'm receiving the finest health care there is".

Kaiser spares no expense whatsoever in re: to my care.

Take care,

DD

Here is a link, just scroll down to Riverside County which I do believe you reside in, there you should find the different plans available to you.  If you did not pick a plan then CA just picked one for you.
