Good afternoon Ladies!

There's an interesting interview by Peter Staley of Dr. Sharon Walmsley available to watch on the AIDSmeds website.

Dr Walmsley is an hiv doctor working in Toronto. She's also involved in research, particularly looking at the problems we face as women when it comes to how both hiv and treatments can affect us differently from the men.

Watch it here:

http://www.aidsmeds.com/articles/women_hiv_aids_2076_13068.shtml

It's well worth looking at. If you happen to be on a dial-up connection and can't watch videos, there will be a written account published soon.

Hello! It's good to see interest in this interview. The lack of women in studies is something that has always annoyed the hell out of me. I grouse about it to the Wiz now and then - he's also in research.

I'll keep my eye out for the transcription and let you know. :)

Ann --

I can't wait for the transcript either.  It's wonderful that there is some research being done on how the meds affect women.

Very informative video, Ann, thanks for mentioning it.  I have been wondering lately how much my Sustiva is really affecting me.  Would I be like this if I weren't on it?  i.e. anxious, suffering from insomnia, distracted, stressed!  I see the doc in a few weeks and I will ask, but my numbers are great, so I think she will say to hang in there!

The transcript is now available at:

https://www.poz.com/article/women-hiv-aids-13113-8823

By the way, I'm told that if you hit the pause button on the video, it will continue to load (like You Tube videos do) and you can hit play after it loads completely. This may enable some dial-up users to watch the video.
