Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Not your average case of paranoia

Hi guys. I feel I have a unique situation here and I would really like your help.

First let me say I always use condoms for anal sex.
Okay so I was having se with my bf, and he wanted to top me which I never do... Long story short he was fucking me... And at the end says... The condom is gone..
I later found it after a horrible search effort and pulled it out.
Since I didn't do it before there was blood and everything.
And since he was my bf I felt comfortable enough to have the sex history talk with him because of the slip
Off... When I dropped the H word he froze up, got very uncomfortable and when I asked he said nothing and walked away..
I asked again later and he didn't say anything so I went for a third time and all I
Got was 'what do you think my status is'
Long story short we began to fight and what not and broke up.
I'm really nervous because of the no answer. I've tested beg at 6 weeks and waiting for conclusive. My questions are:
1) is 6 weeks a good indicator?
2) would anyone out there whose positive refuse to tell their partner in this situation?

A negative at 6 weeks is an excellent result. The average time to seroconversion is 22 days. All but the smallest number of those who are going to seroconvert will do so within 4-6 weeks after an exposure. Also, until the condom came off it would have provided some protection.

So a negative at 6 weeks points strongly to continuing to test negative at 3 months.

This is really not the place to be taking a poll about disclosure issues in relation to a partner. For one thing, only a very few are authorized to respond in this forum. It sounds like there should have been some conversation a while back about HIV and health status in general. Keep that in mind if you get back together and/or you find yourself with a different guy.
