Women and Money!!! Suze Orman's New Book for Free!
« on: February 13, 2008, 06:20:47 pm »
I think Suze Orman has valuable advice for everyone regarding money issues of all sorts.

Through Oprah's site, she is offering her newest 274 pp book for free via download. Use the following link and you will see the .pdf link on the page. It is also available in Spanish. The offer ends 2-14 at 8 p.m. EST. You may have to be a little patient, but I gained access via dialup within no time and the download can be saved on your hard-drive.

No better Valentine for yourself or a friend.

Thanks so much, Em.  I will definitely be doing this when I have a little more time-I have to run in a couple minutes.  I would like to do it when I have some time to read some of it.  Miss you!

I'm glad several of you are checking this out. I just posted about it in an Off Topic thread. As a result, I realized I hadn't shared here why I feel as I do about Suze Orman. Bear in mind, this is relevant reading whether you've got two nickels or thousands of nickels. This is an edited excerpt from the other post.

I think women are often at a distinct disadvantage when it comes to understanding finances, their value in the home and on the job, and how self-esteem feeds and is fed by money attitudes.

Reading a Suze Orman book in 1998 helped me to understand and change my attitudes about money. I had some screwy, under-developed, to some degree math-phobic concepts about dealing with money. My financial life has not been the same since.

The first time I saw her book, The 9 Steps to Financial Freedom,  in a grocery store, I could not afford it. I read a few pages at the display table and knew I needed it. I promised myself as soon as I could, I would buy and I did.

By doing an exercise suggested in that book I was able to understand the factors tied up and knotted in what I thought about myself and money. Once I understood, I could start to make changes.

At the time, I was living in a motel room with a tiny kitchenette. Less than ten years and a diagnosis later to boot, my life is considerably different.

I'm looking forward to reading this newest book. She is a straight-shooting counselor in money matters and today, is passing her help along for free. I've watched Suze Orman help to change peoples' lives over and over...most important to me, she helped to change mine and therefore, has affected my family, friends and strangers favorably.

Em
