Venting
« on: July 03, 2010, 10:57:41 pm »
Okay of all times for something like this it's a holiday weekend and I am in the middle of bumfuck Mass for the weekend.  I have been having tingling in my left arm and face for over 10 days.  Finally got in with a Neurologist on Friday and he did a nerve conduction study on my arms and said there was a notable difference in my nerve response(left one much slower).  He is going to do it on my face/legs this coming Tuesday.  Meanwhile since that appointment yesterday morning I have been lightheaded, nauseous, and the tingling/numbness is worse than ever.  He had me do blood work for Lyme disease etc  and I did that on Thursday but of course no response yet.  Meanwhile I have some bizarre bug/spider/tick who the fuck knows bite on my arm.  Anyway he has also ordered a brain MRI in addition.  So me being a freak I am thinking I have Lyme, MS, or peripheral neuropathy.  LOL  I am not even a hypochondriac at all but this is really pissing me off.  I just needed to vent.  Either way I guess I have to wait till Tuesday.  Thanks for listening to my bitching.  I am usually not like this.     Joe

Joe,
Sorry to hear about what you are going through.  Being sick can be frustrating and scary at the same time, so venting is the way to get it off your chest.  Let's hope it's something simple like a bug bite and dehydration.
Don't obsess over the wrong things.  Life isn't about your numbers, it isn't about this forum, it isn't about someone's opinion.  It's about getting out there and enjoying it.   I am a person with HIV - not the other way around.

eek, yeah that would be a bit worrisome.

Is there any chance it could just be a pinched or strained nerve? although Im not sure if that would exhibit itself on the nerve function tests. hmmmm.

WEll Im sure things will be fine. Keep us posted!

Bitch away! Thats part of what this place is for..bitch away. My belief here is that if I have issues and have tests and they were my worst nightmare they wouldn't be making me wait until Tuesday to solve the issue. Get the info and slow your head down, feel better and take it easy. Kepp on bitching if and let it out.

Thanks guys appreciate it.  Went to a James Taylor/Carol King concert tonight (for those of you who know who they are LOL) and it was really relaxing outside under the stars.  I can not wait to get back to NYC tomorow so I can go back to the doctor.  Will let you know.  Right now I can't even feel the left side of my face.  Fun times!
