Hi all,
Just wanted to know if I need to get tested.
Following was the encounter in the past 2 years other than this I have had no sexual encounters except with my wife, and both of us have tested negative for HIV
1) On Dec 24, 2011 I had a body rubbing session with a CSW, with a condom
2) She did a handjob on me for 2 mins without condom and then i wore a condom and she finished me off.
Can I test at the 4 week mark with a HIV Duo test and get on with my life?

You can test today and get a conclusive result - you did not have a risk for hiv infection. A test at any time for you will be conclusive.
The only proven sexual risks for hiv infection are unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse. You did neither.
Hiv is not transmitted through skin-to-skin contact.
It sounds like this is nothing more than a case of the guilts because someone other than your wife touched your body and/or your penis. Knock it off - you did nothing risky where hiv is concerned. You're not going to test positive and have your naughty little massage session exposed. Relax.
Use condoms outside your marriage for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!!!

Hello Ann,
Thanks for the response. So , I dont need to test at all , i guess. Will try not to venture outside my marriage. Another point, even if there was a lot of body contact between the 2 of us being nude and only rubbing on the genitals that too with a condom, i dont need to worry right? So, do I forget the incident and move on?

HIV is transmitted by;
Unprotected penetrative anal and/or vaginal sex
Sharing works with other IV drug abusers
Mother to child
As you can see you never had an exposure.

Ok, so protected genital rubbing (Penile-Vaginal) doesnot pose any risk. I will do a test at 4 week mark and move on. Is it ok?

Did a RNA PCR test at 8 days post incident (24/11/11) The doc told me to get it done to have peace of mind. He has also said , if I have continued anxiety then I can keep testing the RNA PCR until 3 weeks post incident and get a HIV DUO test at 28 days and forget the issue.
Will get the first RNA PCR results on 3rd Jan 2012. Lets see what the new year brings.

A "NEGATIVE" is what you are going to get, you never had an exposure.

It doesn't matter when you test. You did not have risk. This is all about fears and there is no basis in HIV science to think you have had a risk for the virus.

8 days result is out. Not detected as per the RNA quantitative PCR
Will wait for the HIV DUO test at 28 days

What part of YOU DID NOT HAVE A RISK FOR HIV INFECTION do you not understand?
I cannot believe you wasted money on an unnecessary, expensive PCR test. You did not have a risk.
Test all you like, you will not have a positive result over your NO RISK incident.
