Struggling with how to choose insurance plan

Hey all,

I started a new job and just got notified that I am now eligible to get insurance (YEAH).

My husband works at Wal-Mart and the coverage for the Atripla I take is horrible. Co-pay is like $700 a month. This past year, I used the co-pay assistance card from Gilead and that covered most of the cost. I still had to pay at the end of the year for 3 months of pills, but better than having to pay the full co-pay myself.

Anyway, how do you choose plans? It seems like the co-pay for prescriptions is pretty similar among all of the plans (either $100 or $80) (Gold, Silver or Bronze) a month, which is very manageable. I now work for Walgreens in Florida and the two options are Blue Cross Blue Shield and United Health Care. I just read on the forum that UHC may no longer be covering Atripla, which has worked great for me. I did have a negative reaction to Stribild, so I am nervous to switch.

Sorry, how do you choose? Do you call the company and explain your situation and ask opinions on the best option for your situation or do something else?
