Congratulate yourself - you're Time magazines Person of the Year

http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/12/16/time.you.tm/index.html

I knew I'd be famous someday :)
And I wished for guidance, and I wished for peace
I could see the lightning; somewhere in the east
And I wished for affection, and I wished for calm
As I lay there - Nervous in the light of dawn

QUOTE:

But look at 2006 through a different lens and you'll see another story, one that isn't about conflict or great men. It's a story about community and collaboration on a scale never seen before. It's about the cosmic compendium of knowledge Wikipedia and the million-channel people's network YouTube and the online metropolis MySpace. It's about the many wresting power from the few and helping one another for nothing and how that will not only change the world, but also change the way the world changes.

Aaahhh!

For some reason I'm reminded of this quote from my favorite Gus Van Sant movie, To Die For:

"Suzanne used to say that you're not really anybody in America unless you're on TV... 'cause what's the point of doing anything worthwhile if there's nobody watching? So when people are watching, it makes you a better person. So if everybody was on TV all the time, everybody would be better people. But, if everybody was on TV all the time, there wouldn't be anybody left to watch, and that's where I get confused. "

If everyone blogs on the InterWeb who reads all the blogs?  To be honest, youtube bores me and I never could figure out MySpace's attraction even after 3 years of trying (and they had the nerve to delete my account after I re-christened myself Shitty McShitStain in homage to a "str8-acting" homo who micro-managed his group, "Homo Faux Pas" -- they also deleted the increasingly popular group I founded called "Homo Faux Str8").  I also thought it a tad strange MySpace had no group for the HIV+ even though there were groups for almost every other kind of interest imaginable.  Worst of all was the group for people 40 and older for it seemed to contain the same mindless blather like "Would you kiss/fuck/lick/marry/dance with/eat/ the person above you?" threads that too many other groups contained.  There was no group for misanthropes either...

Boo,
who wouldn't want to be a member of any club that would have me
String up every aristocrat!
Out with the priests and let them live on their fat!

Boo what do you expect from a site geared for teenage girls and the old pervs who love 'em?
You would think by now teen age girls would cop on to the fact that the hunk they are i ming is 55 and lives with his mother.
But it soes give fodder to NBC"s Dateline- or you might say it puts the date in Dateline.
