Hi!
« on: August 17, 2017, 01:07:33 pm »
Hi everyone!

Its been a while since I last posted.

I just wanted to check in and provide an update coming up on my two year mark since diagnosis and a year and half into treatment.

Life is good...its actually great!

First I have to say that most important and number one priority for me is to be constant with treatment and doctors appointments. I reached UD in the first months and have stayed UD since. This has given me the tranquility to keep doing all my regular activities without worrying about my health. So stay on treatment!

Been dating for six months and really loving sharing my life with a partner, so things are great love-wise.

Work is great, really giving it my all!

I have chosen not to disclose my status to anyone but a couple very close friends and my partner (practice safe sex!).

Now, I can't say there haven't been days that I don't think about HIV but I try to keep on the positive side and usually wake up the next day with a bright expectation of life. Its important to find a support system, your partner, friends, family, etc. I'm also still trying to figure out how I can contribute to the cause, its important to spread the message and help others.

As always, to all our brothers and sisters who share our condition and may be struggling health wise (physically or mentally), I offer you my honest support and encourage you never to give up!

I hope these words also encourage newly diagnosed friends. I want to tell you that it can be a rough couple of days coming to terms with the condition and getting used to it but it can also be all right if you work on it!!!

Stay strong everyone!

G

Great news!  It is always wonderful when you read or hear a story like yours.  I am sure so many will benefit from your posting!  Best of luck with the new partner and as far as disclosure I feel that is everyones choice of when and if to even tell anyone.  My disclosure has been the same as your, just a couple close friends and my spouse who actually told me that I was positive once I woke up from a coma. Actually, we were still just dating at the time of the discovery.  Now we are totally happily married and growing stronger every day in our relationship and my health!

Great that you are doing fine! Life is indeed great to let a tiny little virus control it. Congratulations on your braveness and of course on the great things life is giving you.

Also from Mexico, a tight hug!

Ray.
