When was the last time your VL was checked and when will be the next time? If the intervals are really short, perhaps that's why they skipped it? Anyways, it's very unusual not to do the VL. Call your doc and ask him.

My freaking doctor also skips viral load tests.
His excuse is that they cost too much for the clinic.
I just want to kick him in the ass.   >:(

A viral load test should definitely be done.  I have labs drawn every three months, and my doc always orders a vl test.  Unless they need to be done more frequently because of something, like starting a new combo of meds etc.

Hello,

The doctor always orders a viral load as one of my blood tests. And if by some chance, the viral load test comes back as incomplete, it is redone. I would call the doctor and find out why he didn't do a viral load test, and then ask him to schedule one for you.
