Hello, first of all sorry for my bad english. Four months ago i had a sex experience with a tranny scort. I didn't want to have anal sex with her, but i was heavily drunk and finally i had anal sex during about five minutes, i was the top and the intercouse was condom protected. Then she told me we are not going to do anything you don't want.. and i didn't want to make anal sex but finally we did.. Later that make me suspect she can be infected with some its. Here the problem was the damm ALCOHOL

I checked the condom with water and the condom was ok and i don't think it slipped duringe the intercourse.
Two weeks later i look for information about hiv over internet and i was terrible scared, i too read in a forum that the tranny is vih+, You can imagine how i felt .. i am on a mogamonous relation 7 years and i've never had an expirience like that. Then i begun to test:

- At 19 days a rna pcr negative (limit 400 copies detection). My stress raises after that test i felt the laboratory wasn't good and only wanted my money but i made the test.
- At 33 days insti test negative and determine duo test negative (25 pg/ml)
- At 54 days duo test (the lab told me that the limit of detection of this test was 100 pg/ml and that it wasn't conclusive at this time)
- at 75 days another duo test in another lab
- at 86 days duo test and qualitative pcr
- at 97 days one duo test determine fingerprick (i don't know if fingerprick is a reliable test)

I used to drink too much when i went out with my friends, the best of this terrible expirience is that i haven't drunk again since that day.
But now i'm a little worried in one of my tests i had neutropenia 1950 neutrophils, could it affect the hiv tests??
I'm very worried because this is the only time i have had a risk, and if i got hiv for this one time.. i'm worried too for my girlfriend, when i think i could pass hiv to her .. (although i use condom with her too)

1. Do i need to test again at 6 months?

You never had an exposure from protected sex, nor did you need to test.

rapidrod ty for the great job you are making here, have you ever heard of someone that have got hiv from a "protected exposure"??
i thought a condom that doesn't break is 100% realiable and when i begun to look for information over internet and read that condoms offer 90% of protection then my anxiety begun to raise.

Nothing except using your own hand is 100% safe for sex. But properly worn a condom provides very effective protection.

If you continue to surf the net I can promise you that you are going to find lots to feed your worst fears and all to no good purpose. Cut that out and just get on with your life. Really.

ok, i've chosen being faithful to my girlfriend (100% safe). but andy do u recommend me to test at 6 month to finish with my worries?

You don't need any testing.

You are conclusively HIV negative. There is no further need for testing.

Stop making problems where you don't have one. HIV is not your problem. Move on with your life. Really.

No, it could not. HIV tests are some of the most accurate tests science has developed. The ONLY time a person might not develop antibodies within three months after infection is when the person lacks the ability to develop them. This is caused by a few SERIOUS and DEBILITATING immune diseases (think boy in the bubble) and people whose immune systems have been destroyed through chemotherapy (and even then, given time, these immune systems rebuild themselves).

Rarely, people who have done significant (debilitating) immune damage due to chronic, long term IB drug use also take longer to seroconvert.

Putting it as simply as possible, no matter what your issues might be, HIV is not - CAN not be one of them.
