Help Please
« on: July 25, 2011, 01:12:34 pm »
Hi dear members,

last 2 months, stupidly,I had vaginal intercourse with around 8 prostitutes in red light district in Brussels and i have always used their condom, but with two of them i had to remove the condom and rewear it again in the middle of the intercourse but i am afraid if i weared it the opposite side or the right side.would my penis then had vaginal fluids and i am infected??i am so afraid.the gurl were using lubricant,i would not judge which was the correct side.

specially,my girlfriend few weeks ago had sore throat, malaise, fatigue, some rash in her leg(she recovered from these symptoms in 3 days after took some analgesic and the doctor told her this is not kissing disease but she had no testing and she is not aware of what i did) but i did not have any symptom.would that be i got HIV and i infected her?? she also had history of kissing disease in the past.

can anybody please help?any experience and advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks alot

It is highly unlike that you were able to reverse the condom for repeated use. I can't help wondering if you had been drinking and if that is clouding your recollection of what happened.

In any case as long as you were wearing a condom each time for intercourse then you were protected. HIV is a very fragile virus and would not be transmitted through vaginal fluids on the outside of a possibly reversed condom.

There is nothing HIV-specific about any of your gf's symptoms. I suspect your guilt is the real issue in this situation.

I don't see a real need for testing but perhaps just for your peace of mind you may want to get tested. You can do it initially at 6 weeks after the most recent possible risk. A negative at that point would make it very likely that you will conclusively test negative at 13 weeks. But as I said previosuly I don't think testing is really necessary.

Andy, thanks a million for assuring me,so grateful for that!!!;);)

I feel so baaaaaaaaaaaad,i would never never never do that again! i regret it and feel so guilty.

when this happened actually,my penis was semi erected,i was not peneterating hard, had to change cause the lubricant was making it more hard, but after finishing the intercourse,i was removing the condom with my hand without a tissue,is this also a risk?

finally my dear Andy, why you think these are not symptoms of HIV for her?when i looked online, they were abit the same, but what surprise me is that she has these symptoms and me not.

I believe also,i have no cuts or wounds or soars in my penis.

take care and God Bless you.

Hear you soon for answers of my 2 questions.

GUILT IS A WASTE OF TIME AND ENERGY. GET OVER IT. REALLY

NO

I CAN'T DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF HER SYMPTOMS. SHE SHOULD BE DISCUSSING THEM WITH HER DOCTOR.  SINCE YOU DID NOT DO ANYTHING THAT PUT YOU AT RISK FOR HIV, YOU CAN'T HAVE PASSED HIV TO HER.

The only kind of test that matters in relation to HIV is an HIV-specific test. Other blood tests such as you have mentioned do not in anyway relate accurately to HIV status. And the numbers you are citing change all the time for all sorts of reasons.

And you're right, if you had been infected, which I hasten to say you weren't, it would be you and not your gf or anyone else who might be having symptoms early on.

You are worrying needlessly. You can always strictly for your peace of mind get tested, but it's unnecessary because you did not have a risk. Really.

By the way, we do advise in general that anyone who is sexually active ought to regularly have a full STD panel done at least once a year. Other STDs are much easier to acquire than HIV, so it's a good precaution to take.

As of now HIV is not your problem as I see it.

OK. I certainly expect a negative result for you if go the testing route. By the way, you can test initially at 6 weeks. At that point all but the smallest number of those who are going to seroconvert will have done so.

A negative at 6 weeks for you would further affirm my expectation of another negative at 13 weeks.

As for making a donation, contact any AIDS service organization in your area and they will suggest an appropriate recipeint.

Your fears notwithstanding, I continue to expect a negative result for you. Fortunately for you fears do not affect a test result.
