As if depression wasn't enough!
« on: April 05, 2012, 12:00:41 pm »
Life is so unpredictable and sometimes SLAPs you in the face.

One late night I performed un-protected cunnilingus on a CSW / prostitute, licked  liquids and probably were floating in my mouth too. My oral health, I don't think it is that great. Bleeding gums but only if i suck on my gums hard, they'll bleed etc. Then I had protected sex. After sex left the condom in my underwear, probably for around 15min and most probably even touched my urethra and what not.

Two days later my genital herpes attack me on my penis and close to my butt crack! After almost 11 days, I felt a minor sensation of something stuck in my throat and then 3rd week I go to the doc and he says I might have a viral infections (negative for strep). Same week, after seeing Doc, my right armpit hurts and almost both armpits were sweating like hell. Then I feel weakness and pain in both arms. Just took Ibuprofen and it helped get rid of the pain at least for a while. I now see two red flat spots near my right armpit and one near my left, the left one is closer to the trapezius.

My inner cheeks feel rough at places near my teeth.

Feel so idiotic.

The most important fact in your story is that you used a condom for intercourse. The only confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. Use condoms consistently for those activities consistently and you will be well protected. Yes, it really is that simple.

As for giving oral, your saliva has over a dozen elements and proteins which very effectively prevent the transmission of viable HIV.

Nothing you are reporting symptomatically is suggest specifically of HIV. Continue with your doctor to get them properly treated. This is not an HIV situation and I don't see any need for HIV testing.

I forgot to add, I think my groin lymph node feel swollen or is that my upper thigh fat bulging (esp. the one on the left seems bigger than the one on the right!) :S

What is different between swollen / enlarged?

scorp,

Stop telling us about your symptoms. We don't want to know. You should be discussing that stuff with your doctor as only he or she can diagnose you. Nobody can diagnose you over the internet.

But we CAN tell you that you have NOT had a risk for hiv infection. Not even a teeny, tiny bit.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST SPECIFICALLY OVER ANY OF THE (NO RISK) ACTIVITIES YOU'RE WORRIED ABOUT, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

Thank you Andy and Ann, hopefully would get tested just to calm my anxiety. Keeps me worried all the time. I am amazed at the courage and will people have even after getting such a disease.

I hope we can find a cure soon, so no one has to suffer!

God Bless you all

Like Ann I certainly expect a negative test result for you since you did not have a risk. But I can understand testing for peace of mind.

Meantime get on with your life and if any symptoms persist you should discuss them with your doctor. HIV is not the cause.
