What a day, just needed to vent....
« on: June 23, 2017, 03:14:23 pm »
So I head out to go get my bloodwork drawn and do some errands, my car won't start.  I know it's the battery and it died last week but I recharged it, but maybe my dome light stayed on again which I think happened last time.

So I forget about it and start charging the battery.

Then I decide to head out in the afternoon.  I get to the lab and she tells me she can't do it because the CD4 test can't be more than 72 hours and they have no more pickups.

Then I go to the grocery store to pick up a few things since i'm out and luckily the car started back up okay.  I get in line 2 people in front of me and the girl says we have to change lanes because her printer is stuck.  So i go to the next lane this cashier with an upset puss on her face that the guy in front of me commented on is scanning the items really slow on a huge order.  Then the lady is fumbling around getting her money out and change.  By that time the first register is fixed so we move back there and only the 2 customers before me so not too long a wait.

I've had worse days but not so many things go wrong in a row normally.
Pray God you can cope

If you don't drive frequently, you can extend the life of the battery by recharging it at least monthly, perhaps more frequently in the summer if you live where it's hot (like I do in Las Vegas).  I have one of those cheap battery rechargers that Walmart sells and it does the trick but can take as long as 8 hours to fully recharge a low battery.

I actually had problems with another car battery and bought a solar trickle charger, worked good, but now my car is parked where I don't get a lot of sun and there is no way to know if the thing is working or not.

I'm just gonna get a new battery.  It's a used car and I think it's original to it.   I went out and was worried I would not make it back, the red battery light came on while I was driving so at a light I had to put the car in park and put my foot on the gas.

I have an old battery charger but I don't think it's working right, it works but doesn't charge the battery fully so I'm just going to have to buy a new one.
