Is it conclusive or should I retest?
« on: June 02, 2009, 07:33:36 am »
Dear All,

I have received an unprotected oral sex for  a few minutes. I have also touched partners vagina
with a cut that may not have been healed(one day).

After that exposure I had flu like symptoms (fatigue, 38 Degree heat, soar throat). Nıo rushes.

I had the following tests since exposure;
- 22nd day Hiv1/2 Ab + P24 Ag  --> Negative
- 41st day Hiv 1/2 Ab + P24 Ag  --> Negative
- 75th day Hiv 1/2 Ab  --> Negative
- 102nd day Hiv 1/2 Ab --> Negative

Should I stop testing and give a sigh of relief?

May I start unprotected sex with my wife?
(May I have even a child?)

Thanks for your responses....

Wonder,

You never had a risk for hiv infection in the first place and so NO, you do not need further testing. You didn't need the tests you already had over this specific situation.

Ann thanks alot.

I would like to get your opinion for vaginal fluid that may allow the Hiv virus to intrude
into my blood system through an unhealed cut on my finger. And evenmore if she was on her period?

I would like to get your opinion regarding conclusivity of the tests mentioned above
although having unprotected vaginal sex.

Are they enough for all sex circumstances? I do not know the partner's HIV status.
(I assume she is high risk of Hiv +)

If you had unprotected vaginal or anal intercourse that IS a risk for HIV transmission. However, since you have tested negative at 13 weeks or more past the most recent risky incident you are definitely HIV negative.

None of the other activities which you mentioned put you at risk for HIV transmission.

Yes, you can resume having unprotected intercourse with your wife. If you have intercourse outside of your marriage again you must always without exception use a condom for vaginal or anal intercourse. Then you will be well protected against HIV transmission.

Thanks Alot...

Is it conclusive for the ones that have immune system problems.

I'm not IV Drug abuser, no organ transplant, no chemotherapy for cancer nothing at all.

I think, I must account myself one of the healthy ones that will produce antibodies agains hiv
definetely by 3 months.

How can one understand or know that he has a immune system problem and he may be the one
of 3% of persons who may develop antibodies even after six months according to CDC?

Thanks....

Wonder,

If you had immune system problems severe enough to delay antibody production, you would definitely know about it.

Once again, you have not even had a risk for hiv infection, and your negative results are not going to change. You do NOT have hiv!

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will continue to avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple! If you haven't already, read through all three conodm and lube links in my signature line so you can use them with confidence.

Dear Ann and Andy,

Thanks for all your anxiety releifing explanations.

I'm still severely experiencing Hiv fobia or hiv anxiety.

Although my STD Prof. Dr. has adviced me not to furher testing after having 75th day negative test,
I had the last one at 15th week whic is also negative.

Probably because of anxiety, I'm still having fatigue, sleep disorder, concentration problems, diziness,
Irritable Bowl Syndrom (IBS) which can also be due to Chronic Fatigue Syndrom (CFS) that can be caused by an immune system disorder. That's why I'm asking all these probably anxiety driven questions.

For the last time I'd like to hear your advices.

Thanks alot.

Wonder,

Symptoms or even the lack of symptoms will never tell you a single thing about your hiv status.

But we KNOW you don't have hiv. You're conclusively hiv negative following a no risk event. Even if you DID have a risk, you are still conclusively hiv negative. Work with your doctor to find out what, if anything, is going on. It certainly is NOT hiv - you don't have hiv!

If you read the Welcome Thread before posting like you're supposed to, you will have read the following posting guideline:

Quote
Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). If you continue to post excessively after one Time Out, you may be given a second Time Out which will last eight weeks. There is no third Time Out - it is a permanent ban. The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.

Please consider yourself warned.

Ann and Andy,

Thanks alot. I'm closing HIV chapter.
I also think to get help of a psychiatrist to get rid of Hiv Anxiety.

For the last questions of mine will be my sphylis test taken at Week11.
They (TPHA and VDRL) were negative. Are they also conclusive?

My doc has not ordered any HCV Test since he said it is impossible to transmit by such a
sex encounter. (Anyway I had myself a HBV and HCV tests 3 weeks after exposure
and they were negative)

Thanks.....

Wonder,

Yes, getting professional help to put this behind you is a good idea.

You don't have syphilis either. It's high time you stopped worrying about getting your dick sucked. It happened. Get over it.

Wonder,

NO!

I'm giving you that time out you've been warned about. Do not attempt to create a new account to get around your time out because if you do, you will be permanently banned.
