Well, I have been a little sick this week. Couldn't taste a darn thing. I'm ready to eat today. I didn't have any breakfast. No lunch. But for dinner I'm cooking dressing, BBQ ribs, turnip greens, and homemade mac and cheese. I think with all that I will have a diet coke  ;D

Well, today's the start of a new week.  I'm still drinking my morning coffee.  But-I put on a nicotine patch last night and so far, no cigarettes this morning.  I don't even want to smoke right now.  I'm trying to keep psyched up.

Does anyone else get ravenous before they get their period?  I sware I could have eaten a horse this weekend!  I ate a bunch of crap, chinese food, burger king, pizza, I hate this time of month.  Although, since it has come I am not hungry at all, I have just had 2 cups of coffee.  I hope to get out today and walk somewhere maybe at the local park, there is always the question of safety which pisses me off that I even have to think about around here.

I haven't noticed any changes in my food with my period. I just started mine. I guess I was just lucky last month. I know ya'll don't remember but I started a new birth control pill and last month when it was time to take the placebos I didn't have a period I just had one day of a light pink show when I wiped. The bleeding isn't has heavy as without the pill but there is a shit load of clots.
I know, nasty. Who wants to hear the details on my period? LOL  Nasty but still its a fact of life when you have a uterus.

Maybe that will ruin out appetites and we wont shove another swiss roll, twinkie or bonbon in our mouths.  ;D

OK, for breakfast, 3/4 cup Honey-Nut Cheerios, and 1/2 bagel w/ cream cheese.  For lunch/dinner, Spanish rice, a piece of 3-cheese bread and strawberry shortcake.  No cigarettes so far!  (nothing else to smoke either)

Well, this morning I had 1 cup of Curves cereal, 1/2 bagel and 1 cup of strawberries.  I'm going to eat in another hour.  I plan on having a big salad, but with blue cheese dressing (can't help it, it's my favorite), and maybe some pineapple.  Still no smokes!

Betty, it's briliiant you dont smoke. Your food for today sounds great, yummy.
I have been off this thread since going to Italy. Italy foodwise was heaven, but I didn't gain weight. The food is such top quality. I bought some things in the supermarket and even crackers (for lack of a better word) compared to the Dutch or Spanish version, even the supermarket brand, are top. They just don't put all the usual shit in the food, not even processed food, like E-something something, preservatives, refined oil and all that crap. Everything tastes amazing, from a tomato to the ice cream to the pizza, pasta... anyway I don't mean to make you guys drool, just pointed out that when you really really enjoy food at normal quantities, at least I don't gain weight. The problem for me is not so delicious food and emotional/stress eating...

Anyway I have tried to eat pretty healthily since back with lots of salads, but I still do the night vices. And not the right kind of vices either. My goal is to excercise at least every other day. I'll post what I ate later, I can't fully remeber yesterday.

White pants here we come!

OMG.  Last night, I ate strawberry shortcake, a Twinkie, several strands of licorice, a chocolate covered cherry, and some bbq baked beans-all within 2 hours of each other.  When I got up this morning, my sugar was 343.

I was having some pretty heavy psychological withdrawal from smoking yesterday, so I'm blaming that.  I will be exercising this morning.  I missed doing that yesterday.  I always feel better when I do.  I don't know if I'll eat anything this morning.  I took my fast-acting Insulin, but it still takes awhile for a blood sugar that high to return to normal.  Oh well, today's another day.

I cant remeber any previous days, but today so far I had oatmill, honey & 2 instant coffees for breakfast, a large carton of light probiotic drink around 11:00 (the only product in which I take asperatam or as you guys know it, splenda), small salad with egg & mayo stuff & small bowl of pumpkin-tomato soup for lunch, 2 cappucinos, and just now (16.00) a bag of raw mini-carrots and a tub (200 gr) of tzaziki. we'll prob eat out tonight. I made this desert of whipped cream, white chocolate, cookies and strawberries in red jello last night, really over the top. I ate only a little of it, I know I am tripping myself but wanted to make something nice for the BF whose had the flu lately. There's still most of it left.

Wish, good going on the eating, I'll have some green tea now.

Betty, today's a new day. I understand sugar-wise this was quite a binge but calorie-wise, in my standards it doesnt even come close  ;)

Kind of very garlicy Greek dip from yoghurt, with olive oil, vinegar dill and TONS of garlic mixed in. Not exotic here but off the supermarket shelf. It's 17.57 here, almost leaving work. Another unproductive day (sigh)

Well, I ate about 10:30, 11:00 this morning.  Honey nut Cheerios, 1/2 a bagel w/ cream cheese, and 1 cup pineapple (and water).

Drag, that dessert you made sounds heavenly!  And that tzaziki sounds wonderful also.  I'm like Wishful, I absolutely love garlic!

For dinner, I'll probably have a big salad, maybe a garlic breadstick and maybe some bbq baked beans.

Dinner: takeway from a Surinamese restuarant: basically friend rice, beef and fried hard boiled egg with the spiciest chilly sauce ever. big salad on the side and some bread to kill off the chilly. Desert: bit of last night's but I found it too sweet so ate a little and then some type of yoghurty strwaberry desert

I guess that to get serious with this new lifestyle desert should not be more than a fruit. but i do love cooking. i know this is not for this thread, but imagine the feast we'd all cook if we got together one day...

Thought it might be interesting to compare what I eat with what others do here -  I have no idea what a Twinkie is - heard of it but do not know what it is?

Here we go:
i do not eat breakfast - so two cups of tea with soya milk and one sugar

( I am intolerant to all cheese and related products so can not eat any cheese, yogurt, anything with whey protein in it or sour cream or sour milk, slightly intolerance to milk so only have milk in cooking or as part of an ingredient in a bought item)

Husband ate crunchie nut cornflakes and tea with milk

Dinner - thin slice of ham  with avocado with balsamic vinegar
Husband - large ham sandwich toast and jam later

Evening meal  - Full English roast dinner as its Sunday i.e Roast pork with apply sauce and gravy, roast potatoes, sprouts, cauliflower, runner beans, roast parsnips and Yorkshire puddings ...

strawberries and cream after

Sounds a lot but I only eat tiny portions of it .

My husband and my daughter eat about twice or three times what I do and they are both thin, yet I am overweight. My husband was never anything but slim but with HIV he has waisting, so is now very thin.

But my 18 year old daughter is very healthy, eats like a horse yet is very slim
I have a blog here, please do not judge me on what I say here- I need to offload and this is where I do it: http://hiv-and-us.blogspot.com/

Wishful, you're going to start going to the gymn this week?  Good for you.  Let me know how it goes.

Well, I'm back to wearing the nicotine patch after a weekend of smoking like a chimney.  I exercised this morning. For breakfast, I had cheerios, 1/2 bagel w/ cream cheese, and 1/2 cup pineapple.

I hope I can achieve some weight loss/toning, but I seem to lose the luster to do it come nighttime.  Just keep trying I guess.

Dry toast & water for brekkie? talk about discipline! and holding off at a buffet? wow. sorry I havent been writing in this thread, truth is I've relapsed to eating a lot of food and I dont feel comfortable recalling it. I have been good about working out though.
Veritee your menu is mouthwatering...

I will try to update about the food more, at least write in Word and paste it

Betty good luck with the patches and Wish with the gym

Well, I did a Jillian Michael's workout; well, most of it anyway.  When I was done, I was sure that my flesh would separate from my bones.

For breakfast, cheerios, 1/2 bagel w/ cream cheese, and strawberries.  Oh, and water.  Still no smoking.

Wow Wish, 8 lbs?  Good for you.  I wish I could lose some weight.  Of course, maybe with the recent bout of diarrhea I'm having, I'll get lucky. :D  By the way, what are wing dings?  Chicken wings?

OK, I started smoking full-time again.  I guess I'm not really 'ready.'  I will be again, I know I will.  It's just not the time right now.

Last night, I had some Triscuits and a twinkie.  If I could only give up my late-night snack cakes, I'd be doing so much better.  This morning I'll have some Cheerios, 1/2 a bagel and some pineapple or strawberries.  I have some bagged salad in the frig that I need to throw out.  I go in spurts with salad-some days I can eat one, some days I can't.  So it turns out to be futile for me to buy salad, as I always end up throwing it out.

My supposed healthy diet has gone totally awry.  I'm thinking only a miracle could save it.
