I don't know about you, but for me, getting a letter in the mail, confirming that I have a virus, that I most likly picked up over 20 years ago, is a little dissheartening.  First, I was told it was HIV, that was it. I was finished with sex.  It was not until well into the 2000's, that I was told I also had Hep C virus.  It floored me!  I unsuccsessfully tryed to treat it.

So this week, a letter came, Anal Dysplagia.  A virus.  Transmitted during sex.  Sex? What sex? 15 years ago, and that was j/o action.  It has been 25 years since I've had real, one on one sex.  But, there it is.  Report to the Anal Dysplagia Clinic........  As my dear departed sister inlaw would say, Woopdedo.  Sarcastically of course.  I just can't believe that I managed to pick up so many virus's.  I mean, WOW!  Now, this new one has me a bit concerned.  Not that it's all that new.  I've had it for a long time, just that my New doc took the time to test for it.  No problems, that I'm aware of, she just did her "routine" tests. 

"Anal Dysplagia" Pre cancerous tissue.  Jesus Mary!  Anyone been thru this?  I am apprehensive. Thanks, Bertram.

Yes, I've had it. Don't let the term "pre-cancerous" get you worked up, it just means if left untreated it could become cancer, not that it currently is. This is a slow-moving type of thing anyway. It's quite common for HIV+ gay men to have HPV/anal dysplasia.

Bertram, sorry to hear about your scary news. Hopefully it may not be as dire as you fear.

Also, you had I guess inadvertently posted the same thread twice. I have deleted the duplicate before you could start getting responses in both.

Oie Vay, Safe sex, Safe sex, Safe sex.  So much anguish could be prevented.  What the hell was I thinking?  If I stilll drank, well, I don't.  So I'll take care of this as well, God, this is when it just seems to pile up, yah know?
