Ok here's my situation. Its been 3 weeks since the event and I'm getting a bit anxious about whether I have potentially caught HIV. It was my first and only ever experience with a transgender woman and she was from Brazil.

I went to her place and started off with some passionate kissing involving tongues. I then gave her oral without her having a condom on. She then gave me oral without a condom. She asked to top me but I refused as Im not into that and then she asked me to top her. I put on a condom but never actually inserted as I couldn't get hard enough. We then went back to oral for a short while and she then started masturbating over me and ejaculated on my stomach. I then also ejaculated on my stomach. She gave me a wipe and i cleaned the area. That was the end of the experience.

I recently found out that HIV for transgender escorts is quite high, some suggest over 1 in 3. This makes me concerned about whether to get checked. I would appreciate any advice as to whether I should get checked and if so what kind of chances there are that I could have caught HIV if she was positive.

Yes you can stop worrying and you dont need testing for HIV.

The only confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. As long as you consistently use condoms for those activities you will be well protected.

As Rod has told you, you were not at risk and there is no need for testing.

Other STDs are much easier to acquire than HIV, so if you are sexually active it is a good idea to at least once a year have a full STD panel done.

But as far as HIV is concerned you have no cause for concern over this incident. Get on with your life.

I'm still concerned about this and the reason is because when I type on google, 'can i catch HIV from Oral' there are loads of websites and information that say that I can and some websites give evidence to this and examples. Its basically you word against theres. I still have to wait two months to have a check because that is what my local clinic have told me.

My biggest concern is that although you are so sure thats its no risk, there are so many official websites that have in its headling. 'hiv can be caught from oral, vaginal and anal sex etc.' Why would they say this if there were no reported cases at all to back up this evidence.

Reported is not the same as verified documented cases which there are none.

Nothing you are reporting put you at risk. Sexually risk is about not whom you are with but what you do with the other person. And you didn't do anything risky.

If you continue to surf the web I can guarantee you will continue to come up with more fodder to feed your worst fears. All to no good purpose of course.

For your peace of mind you can waste money and resources and get tested just to receive the inevitable negative result. That's up to you.

There's really nothing more we can say to you about your situation. HIV is not your problem.
