First real workout sine starting meds (numbness, fatigue)
« on: July 10, 2012, 05:07:27 am »
So Im set to do a chest xray this Saturday, 6 week mark with Atripla. Since going on meds I felt fatigued, mild tight chest and a slight numbness in my legs, like lack of strength.

Previous to testing poz I was quite active going to the gym doing cardio and weights but after dx I mostly been in bed.Today I thought I give a more intense workout a try. Did about 40min powerwalk and topped of with cardio 10 min at 70-80% capacity.

First 20 min was no fun, shortness of breath and no power but as I kept going body started to respond better, initially I planned to only do the powerwalk but pushed myself after feeling an increase of power. Now an hour after the workout I feel great and it feels like the workout resolved a few small inconvenieces.

Just wanted to share :)

Hi Common Ground!

Thanks as you have helped me  re  describing your symptoms, exercise and so on.
My legs and  lower back are aching too.....but im trying to do light exercise and walking now every day.....not too far though.

(I had a month ill in bed at home then nearly 2 months in hosp where  i couldn't leave my bed...so im sooooooo happy to be on my feet again!)

My knees were all swollen too....(I felt like an old lady and probably look like on too!!!).....but walking has helped the swelling go down.Yep im still a wee bit breathless too....but im going to keep on trying!!!!!!!!!

Best of luck with regainnig your health and strength.

Britchick x

Thanks britchick :)

Im just back from another 40 min walk and the machinery is working fine. The only thing bothering me slightly is an uncomfy feeling in my feet. No problems
with balance, coordination or strentgh nor any pain but feeling "something".

Any takers?
