A second missed dose; thoughts?
« on: July 03, 2012, 06:23:31 pm »

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to pick up my refill on Friday, so I thought I would go in today to my small mom and pop shop style pharmacy to pick up my meds (Truvada, Prezista, Norvir) and come to find out-- it was closed (since July 1 for the holiday).  Tonight is my last dose.  I had a missed dose on May 6, but didn't think much of it as my Dr. explained the difference of a missed dose (on rare occasions) and regularly missing doses.

I've been U/D for 16 months, so I'm fairly confident I will be OK.

Would you:

-Take my last dose tonight, continue on Thursday night.
-Take the Prezista/Norvir tonight, Truvada tomorrow
-Take my last dose tonight (delayed later than my usual dinner time), then take my next dose Thursday as soon as I get my refill (in the mid-morning); then gradually ease back into the evening/night schedule.

I'm kind of leaning on taking it before bed tonight (versus in the evening), then Thursday morning-- it would be the smallest "window".

And yes, I will adjust my refill schedule so that I don't wait until the last four or so doses.  :o

Missing 1 dose in 20 of this combination is not gonna make any difference. Your are well in the clear.

  Hi there ,
I would take your pills when you do  normally .

Then   when you get  the refill   continue with your  regular schedule  .

Only me ,  But taking half of what you should sounds worse than missing

     a dose  ?

                                             Be well ,

Same thing happened to me last week but mine was insurance issues, then once I got it straight, I had to wait for my meds to be delivered to the pharmacy..Ended up missing 3 doses, but I changed to an every other night dosage for the week to make what I had left last..I'm back on schedule now, but I am hoping I did the right thing..I just wanted to make sure I kept enough of the drugs in my system..I guess I'll find out when I go to the doc in a month
