It kinda smells like Curry mixed with Brown Sugar.   It is in the air?  Really pungent and strange.

I was in NYC this past weekend. I know no other way to put it, the place stinks. I felt filthy just walking around the block.  We kept commenting how nice the city would be if it didnt smell so horrible.

One of my favourite memories of living in NYC is the smell of the fruit and veg shops. I guess I'm just a little stange that way. ;D

Ann go to the south west side, where they pile the garbage and you won't think it smells like fruit and you won't forget that odor either.  :D

I was up there weekend before last, and I went through six shirts and three showers a day....not just to get the sex off of me!  Indeed, Manhattan smelled foul, perhaps a couple million people with less meticulous hygiene.

August is just the worst month to visit NYC.  There's a reason all the locals decamp to Fire Island and the Hamptons all summer -- the smell.

Nothing says NYC like our pavement heated to 110 degrees with the sweet and luciious odor of dog shit, wino's piss, party goer's puke and literary tons of pork fried rice remnants that lingers years after the physical remains have been removed.

I live in Jersey and I take offense!!! :)

Actually, the part of the state that stinks is by Newark Airport where all the refineries are located.  Also, the lovely Hudson stinks at low tide on a humid day....ahhhhhhh

In the morning on my way to work I get the pass the rotting garbage sitting outside the Red Lobster in Times Square....that is the worst smell on Earth.

 ;)

Ed and I used to drive every other couple of years to New Jersey. He referred to those refineries( and the storage tanks as, as New Jersey's potpourri burners !! :)
