Should i continue testing?

Hello,

My exposure was unprotected vaginal sex with unknown female back in November 2012. I had sex with a female with unknown status, since then I have gotten yellow tongue, joint pains, weight loss, loss of sleep and literally the day after got a UTI and now still being treated for a prostate infection. Here is my testing schedule

11 days - PCR DNA TEST with Antibody and full STD testing = Negative
32 days - PCR DNA TEST with Antibody  = Negative
90 days - Clearview stat pack 1/2 finger prick = Negative
133 days - Clearview stat pack 1/2 finger prick = Negative
150 days – Clearview stat pack 1/2 finger prick = Negative

It’s been over 3 months with yellow tongue and I have taken nystatin twice with no luck of getting this resolved. I consider myself, before this situation, pretty healthy and now I feel like my health is deteriorating each day. Should I continue to test out to 6 months based on the CDC timeline for all individuals testing for HIV?

Hi Redz , you are conclusively HIV negative and you do not need to test again . The 3 month time period is sufficient time to get an accurate test , had you been on PEP or on Chemo therapy with a low immune system then the testing window would have been extended , but that's not what you are dealing with .

You can put this behind you now and go with your life , that's plenty enough testing  , just remember to use condoms for vaginal or anal sex and you will avoid HIV .

That’s the thing, I don’t know if my immune system is weak. I did a CBC a few weeks ago and only thing that came back somewhat off was my vitamin D levels. This Thrush, Leg muscles and resent body rashes got me worried that something is going on. I have taken 2 different types of anti fungal medicine for the yellow tongue or thrush and its not responding to it. I was under the impression that only weak immune system could cause thrush in men.

That’s the thing, I don’t know if my immune system is weak.

You would be flat on your back and nearly dead if your immune system were as low as it would take for the HIV test to be affected . We don't discuss symptoms because the only way to know if you are HIV positive is to test , and you have tested conclusively HIV negative .

If your yellow tongue was thrush it would be incredibly painful and you would be at the emergency room instead of talking to me about it .

You are worrying needlessly , HIV isn't your problem so if you feel unwell go see your doctor again .

My last and final question - I promise.
I have noticed an extreme increase in acne on my face and scalp which i never had before. Its starting to be concerning and I was thinking that would could be possibly causing all my issues. I have tested negative up to 5 months and I can seem to move on. My questions is this, do you know if the clearview rapid stat pak 1/2 HIV test would detect all strains of hiv? I have read that there are strains that are not detected on your standard HIV test and its stressing me out.

You are well and truly hiv negative. You do not have hiv, no matter how much you seem to want it.

If you're worried about your skin, go see a doctor about it. Hiv isn't the only thing in the world that can cause skin (or other health) problems.

Whatever is going on, you have conclusively ruled hiv out of the picture.

You do NOT have hiv!
