broken condom..so worried

Hi guys, let me start by saying this experience has changed my life and the way i look at everything...

about 6 days ago my buddies and i had a little too much to drink and ended up going to a strip club.  i ended up having vaginal intercourse with one of the asian dancers (she did not look very clean)
at some point during the sex, she got off of me and informed me that the condom had broken (how long we proceeded after it had broken i do not know, but i would estimate anywhere from 10 seconds to 1 minute)
she ended up putting another condom on me and we finished
i asked her if i had anything to worry about after we had finished and she insisted that she was "clean"
i did not realize the seriousness of the situation until i truly thought about it and began reading about hiv transmission, i have been so worried the past couple days it has been debilitating.

i had a couple of questions:
1) am i at high risk for contracting hiv?
2) should i have gotten PEP?
3) when should i test? for hiv? and for other std's?
4) i noticed a small scab on the head of my penis and some chaffing the next day upon inspection...does that increase my odds of contraction?
5) i have a girlfriend and i feel awful...this is so out of my character it has never happend before and certaintly will never happen again...what should i tell her..and should we abstain from sex until i get tested?
6) does the fact that she put another condom on me to finish increase my risk?

Hiv is a fragile, difficult to transmit virus and more so from a woman to a man. The odds are definitely in your favour of testing negative, but you do need to test.

The vast majority of people who have actually been infected will seroconvert and test positive by six weeks, so a test at six weeks would be an excellent indication of your status, but must be confirmed at three months.

The fact that you continued on with another condom does not increase your risk. Your risk is quite low, as you were protected for most of the time. I've yet to see an insertive partner test positive after a condom break, but you still must test.

You also need to use condoms with your regular partner until you get the all clear. You must also test for other sexually transmitted infections because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Most of the others can be tested for at ten days to two weeks after, sooner if you experience symptoms such as an unusual discharge.

You also need to know that it is highly offensive to refer to people as "clean" or "dirty" when talking about STIs. I've been positive for ten years and I'm clean - I wash every day, thank you very much!

Try to stay productively busy while you wait to test. I expect you to come out of this ok.
