Snorting cocaine worry

(1/1)

Bard28:
Hi
Firstly want to thank you for all of the replies on here Jim, I have been following the site for a while. I am quite an anxious person in general, so I was hoping you could put my mind at ease. A few weeks ago I was on a night out. I snorted some cocaine with some work buddies and I realised that one of the buddies had a nose bleed. He continued to do cocaine over the night but I didn’t see any visible blood in the cocaine but since we were all doing it (sharing different bags), I am nervous that some blood from his nose went onto the cocaine and I snorted it after him. Although this would likely have been at the very least 5-10 minutes after him. We all had our own keys/straws.

Thanks

Jim Allen:
I read your post three times.

It's not an HIV risk, relax and move on with your life.

Here's what you need to know to reduce your HIV risks:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse correctly and consistently, with no exceptions. Talk to your healthcare provider about PrEP as an additional layer of protection against HIV and getting vaccinated against HPV, Hepatitis A & B.

Keep in mind that some sexual practices described as safe in terms of acquiring HIV still pose a risk for other easier-acquired STIs. So please do get tested at least yearly for STIs, including but not limited to HIV, and more frequently if condomless intercourse occurs.

Also, note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms; testing is the only way to know.

Kind regards

Jim
