Paranoid?

(1/1)

onlinehomo:
Last night I received unprotected oral sex from a guy who is HIV positive but undetectable. I had a very small cut on my testicle from shaving and he might have licked over it. He didn’t seem to have any sores in his mouth or bleeding gums. I finished on his back and he rubbed and fingered his anus with my semen. When we were kissing afterwards, he put his fingers (which had my semen on them) in my mouth. I know this is dumb but I just want reassurance, am I at risk for exposure?

Jim Allen:
Dear onlinehomo,

I read your post three times; Kissing, sucking fingers, semen on fingers, fingering and you received a blowjob.

Receiving a blowjob lacks the conditions required for acquiring HIV; thus, it makes sense that after 40+ years of this pandemic in terms of BJs, there hasn't been a single documented case of HIV transmission to an insertive partner (the person being "sucked"), and you will not be the worlds first. The same can be said about fingering, kissing and licking his fingers, it's not an HIV risk to you.

The shaving nick on your testicles makes no difference either (lack of route and viable exposure)

Who knows, however, even if his viral load wasn't suppressed and in the millions, it changes nothing, these activities are not an HIV risk to you.

Here's what you need to know to reduce your HIV risks:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse correctly and consistently, with no exceptions. Talk to your healthcare provider about PrEP as an additional layer of protection against HIV and getting vaccinated against HPV, Hepatitis A & B.

Keep in mind that some sexual practices described as safe in terms of acquiring HIV still pose a risk for other easier-acquired STIs. So please do get tested at least yearly for STIs, including but not limited to HIV, and more frequently if condomless intercourse occurs.

Also, note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms; testing is the only way to know.

Kind regards

Jim

Hi Jim, I guess I was just worried about him sticking his fingers in my mouth because they had my semen and any possible rectal fluid since he fingered himself. Thank you for clearing this doubt. I appreciate it!

Jim Allen:
Yeah, not an HIV risk to you.

You're welcome.
