Drug Assistance
« on: September 21, 2011, 12:04:00 am »
Hey everyone,

I'm new to the site and to having HIV. But it come to my attention that there are people out there on ADAP wait lists who need meds and can not get them because they are expensive. Tested Positive in December of last year and started taking meds last month. The Clinic I go to got me set up with drug assistance thru the drug companies themselves and I get my meds for free while I am on the wait list. I started taking Truvada, Norvir, and Lexiva and got them all for free from the drug companies. I am now switching to Complera and also getting that for free. Of you don't have a patient advocate that knows how to get you your drugs for free.... go to RXasssist.org and type in your med name and it will direct you to where you need to get to contact the drug company's assistance program. I don't pay a penny for anything. There are income requirements, but i got all my meds within 2 weeks of signing up....something to look into if you are waiting for them meds that will save your life
