Hullo all ,
I have been on Citalapram  for 4 years .
The "specialist " put me on 20 mg.  after paxel conflicted with my cocktail .

         ****************
In the past two weeks I have been  taken  80 mg.
I FEEL SORT OF WONDERFUL !

IT SEEMS I HAVE BROKEN THROUGH THE WALL OF DEPRESSION !

In December I have my first psychiatric appointment in over a year !

             *   I do hope the Doctor is up to my high standards !

Not to be rude in any way , but i have found some Doctors  prefere to

                " help "  drama queens , as i am not .
i often just get " your fine see  you in  a few months "

My battle with depression started 50  years ago , I do wonder if
it is possible to be born with it !

I have been reading stuff about " the VEGAS vein "

Does sound very promissing to aliminating depression .

I just want to feel normal and not emotionless  .

                                    any coments ?   PLEASE  :-*
                                                                                  KARL

                                              " It's winter I am IRMINE  till spring "

  update !
it is called the " vagus nerve stimulation "

when googled it comes in as : vagus  or  vegas , go fiquer  ::)

Karl -- I haven't heard of "the vegas vein," but just wanted to say that it's great news that the dose change your doctor suggested seems to be working.

Congrats on breaking through the depression!

THANKS PETER !

                       I did regoogle it :
                                               VAGUS NERVE STIMULATION

It is typically used for epilepsy .

But they have found it makes a profound difference in depressed people !

Karl , still being Happy  :)

I hope the higher dosage will be able to help you.

When the doctor starts the "your fine ... see you back in 3 months"  that is you cue to let them know you are NOT fine and the drug isn't working but it sounds like this higher dosage may be just the thing to help jump start your therapy.

Good Luck,
AA

Karl,

I'll keep praying with you (to whichever god or goddess will listen)  :D

Sorry you have to lose the alcohol ... but it is a depressant AND just think of all the money you'll save.  Since you are going to be putting up a Christmas tree this year you'll need all the extra money to put presents under it.

Best of luck & to toasting in the new year with sparkling grape juice!  ;)
