Title: Scared of condom tear
Post by: nedelkovski on October 04, 2013, 11:47:27 am
Hello

I know that the answers will not help me to define my hiv status, but i am looking for your assessment of how risky was my situation,

I had sex with a girl that i dont know her status , but i know that she had a lot of sex partners. I put polyisoprene condom but i was drunk that night. I didnt feel that the condom broke and i asked my partner she said that it didnt. But I am afraid of tears on the condom cuzz she had piercing on her vagina and the condom was exposed on a heat before about 10 hours.

After three days after i learnt that she was having a lot of partners I was starting to worry a lot. The next day I was having mild fiver and soar throat. After 3 weeks I started to feel week, muscle aches and lost weight. I made HIV test and it came negative, but its to soon for that. After 6 weeks i have swollen lymph nodes and I am really scared, I dont know what my future holds. If you can help me with your opinions on my situation I will be very thankfull.

You say you didnt think the condom broke and she says it definitely did not break so that would be a no risk situation .

Since I have no idea if the condom broke ( it sounds like it didn't ) you are the one who has to decide what happened . I'm not making judgements but drinking and sex has led to many a HIV infections , so you may want to limit sex to times when your judgement and memory isn't impaired .

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

If you are not sure what happened that night then a good time to begin your sexual health checkups would be 6 weeks past any possible exposure and again at 3 months to confirm the results . Best of luck .

After 3-4 days from the exposure i felt mild fever that passed after 3-4 days and sore throat that is still lasting(6 weeks). After 3 weeks i was feeling tired and weak and my muscles started pain. After 6 weeks i felt tirednes and muscles pain again and swollen lymph glands under my jaw. I gave blood and the doctor said that i have some VIRAL INFECTION.Tested hiv negative at 3.5 weeks. I am worried the detected viral infection is related to hiv infection and these symptoms are related to hiv. Thank you in advance.
