For those going to Las Vegas

Any thoughts on hotels?  Do you want to stay at one of the nice properties or something more economical?

Even at the nice hotels you can usually get a good deal.  I bet Mark has something to say about that.  Doesn't he go bowling there every year?

I hadn't really thought about it.  But, yeah, count me in.  I'm going for sure.

Having been to Vegas about five times, I'd recommend something economical (probably a package deal) downtown.  You can actually walk around outside and it won't take 20 minutes to get from your hotel room to the sidewalk (no exaggeration).  Fremont Street is a really fun area; it's not like a downtown in a 'normal' city, but very clean and has always seemed safe to me.  The city bus stop isn't far and Vegas has a really good bus system.  You'll also have a much easier time parking.  Don't forget to check out Cirque du Soleil.  Often, the tickets run out.  They're pricey, but well worth it (to D and I, anyway).  Southwest Airlines often has good packages for Vegas.  I'm not sure if we'll be going to Vegas during the AMG, but I'd be happy to offer any suggestions as to hotels, day trips, etc.

Ladies and Gentlemen (gender association your choice)

I must be missing something.  I did a quick count on the published ballots and found:

Las Vegas      6 votes
Russian River  31 votes
San Francisco 32 votes
Vancouver     30 votes
Cruise            5 votes

Am I incorrect in believing AMG 07 is in San Francisco and not Las Vegas?  Have the best day
Michael

Actually, because of the choice factor (1st choice=3 points; 2nd choice=2points; 3rd choice=1 point), I believe Russian River won the polls.  There are some who are going to extend their vacation by going to Las Vegas after the AMG 07 in RR (or something like that).

Thank you Gerry,

I was hoping AMG would be held in either Russian River or San Francisco because I live in RR and SF is so close and such a pleasant drive (except for traffic hours).  This is an event I can plan for because the other locations are simply not in the budget.  Have the best day
