Working from home?
« on: September 20, 2007, 03:01:34 pm »
Just wondering if anyone here works from home? I am trying to find a job but its hard because I have nobody to watch my daughter. I am trying to find a job I can do from home part-time but everything I come across is a scam it seems. Know of any jobs working from home, whether it be online or not, thats really a job?

I work @ home. There are many companies that will let you work from home, it depends on your credentials and their view on remote personnel. My company (a giant in computer business) wants more remotes because they cost less in terms of office space.

Many managers do not know how to manage remotes, they need to see that you're at you desk to think that you're working, so your manager is very important.

I don't know in which area you specialize, are you checking sites like Monster.com ? If you respond to those ads you see in the street, then yes, most of them are scam.

I work from home for the most part with my printing company.  If you are good with graphics and design, you can possibly pick up some side work.

I also started whoring products on ebay lately.  I found a good company  here in Tampa that I can buy merchandise through at wholesale and then I put them on ebay with a markup on them.

Hey Momma,

I work from home... Actually, I telecommute to an office about 500 miles away and have never been there.  Having spent over 10 years of living with AIDS (8 of those on the job market), I gave up and created my own opportunity.

Prior to AIDS, I was VP of a company which claimed to be the nations front runner in workers' comp reform, their more successful programs were my design.  I have redesigned a small in-house program in 9 industry types and market through an agency in Orange County.  I started the work in the hospital w/PCP, opened a firm of my own (and failed).  After a few years of failure and many job interviews, I redesigned my original work, called an old client and have been working for a few months now.  I do hope it lasts but with my experience in this field, it is fair to say every state election or legislation regarding workers' comp insurance, brings changes to the market place and usually a loss of business.

If this project fails, I plan on opening an online store front featuring herbs, essentail oils, candles and pre-designed spell kits in the Wicca Tradition using a tag line like, "Come and Sit for a Spell".  It will not bring in the big bucks but should be enough to live on and I am so over living on disability and doing without.

Have you looked at EBAY?  They deliver a market for a very low cost and you can select your own merchandise and work in your free time.  Take a look at some products on wholesale sites, find something you like and put it out there.  I find, usually if there is a free seminr on "how to make money online (or at home)", there is a fee to pay for information so, I believe we have to create our own opportunities.  Have the best day
Michael
