Title: Don't sleep last night & won't get much tonight either
Post by: Loa111 on May 02, 2023, 05:36:23 am
Just venting really, nothing serious going on, but...

I didn't sleep well at all last night, mainly due to fact I am a very light sleeper. My wife get's up at 3.30am for work (of course she is in bed at 7pm), & she was banging about, turning the light on, then off, then on, coming in & out of the bedroom, & having a loud conversation with some cousin of hers in a far away timezone as she got ready for work. I could not sleep a wink!  >:( I feel exhausted this morning, have to work, & just don't feel the spark. I am contemplation doing a cappuccino overdose to get my through the day!!!  :o

Tomorrow morning, I have to get up at 3.00am to give someone a lift to the airport. I will be lucky to get 2 - 3 hours sleep.  Then I have to rush back home, drop off the car & get into the office.  I am half thinking of many flexing my work hours, taking the morning off & seeing if I can get a couple of house snooze first. I might work better in the afternoon if I do maybe?!?!

What do you do when you are sleep deprived & have to push on with the days tasks?

Not that I have much advice but push through, drink lots of caffeine, and try to arrange more sleep time.

But I just wanted to sympathize with you. I, too, am a very light sleeper and I hear everything. I even have to have a white noise machine to mask the sounds from the clock (not even in the bedroom but the living room) along with everyone (my husband, my two dogs and even myself) simply breathing. It's annoying as hell. Ugh. Lights bother me too. i had to put black electrical tape over all the little LED lights on the electronic in the room.

My husband gets up at 430 in the morning for work. Of course, if him getting up doesn't wake me then the dogs wake up from one of us moving about, and bingo! I'm up for sure.

Thanks Mikie. Yes it's tough being a light sleeper for sure.

So what I did, I got up at 3.00 am no problem yesterday, dropped the person to the airport, got back home, decided to take the morning off work, so I had a sleep for a few hours until noon time. Then yesterday evening I did not go to the gym, instead when for a walk, & relaxed on the bed early, though it was 12.30am before i could sleep again.

I feel better today, still a little tied, I do feel it takes me a few days to recover from sleepless nights, so perhaps an extra coffee or two today but I'll cut the coffee off by 4.00 pm anyway.
