Dan is absolutely not OK. He is utterly depressed. And ready to give up.
He even pushes me away, the one he loves the most.
And I am afraid he might hurt himself.
Depression has suddenly taken over Dan's personality.
I know the system all too well. Steel doors all around him.

I only tried to give some loving. I wished there were something I could do.

Dan knows he has a lot of friends here. Let's hope his heart defrosts again.

I just meant that there are 2 or 3 other sappy love song posts from Hermie to Dan all started at the same time. If there are more silly FUCK YOU's and stuff to toss out there for all of us to see, they will likely go there.

Dan has been through this before and "Sappy Love songs" or not Hermie is hurting, so why don't we just leave them to heal in their own way and their own time..they don't need any smart comments from anyone right now..thank you.

Agreed - but airing one's public breakup/breakdown on a public forum is in such rotten taste that, frankly, I feel less inclined to display sensitivity beyond the "report to the moderator" button.

I would be thrilled to give situations like this privacy... but that's what phone calls and PMs and email is for, not an online discussion forum. Sorry, but my disgust with this is palpable.

Why these threads were not locked LONG ago is beyond me. It was flamebait from the very start.

Indeed. The choice was made to have this public, which is rather rude to the rest of the forum if you ask me. It's really a simple matter of etiquette.

I agree, this should not have been brought into the forum...and I also agree this thread should have been locked, but I'm sure Hermie must have had his reasons for doing this, even though making it public was not one of his wisest decisions to date.

Matty I don't think anyone was out of order with their posts or comments, I never meant to imply that, I was simply asking for it to end now before it got out of hand...that's all.

Dear All,

Dan has been quite clear and specific in his request.

I'm going to trust that Hermie will get the support he needs from friends elsewhere rather than in this thread. And that Dan will do the same if he wants to.

With that in mind and the comments others have made I'm going to lock this thread now.
