I usually don't post my numbers.  Having seen my CD4 improve by less than 100 since starting meds immediately after being diagnosed over a year ago, I was always jealous of those who had big jumps.  But I had to share good news with someone.  Yesterday I had my quarterly dr's visit and got some good news.

3-26-07      CD4 - 267, 16.7%, undetectable
6-25-07      CD4 - 357, 21.0%, undetectable

This was very surprising as in May I was super depressed, drank way too much, smoked incessantly and stayed out till all hours of the morning.  Plus while only missing a day or two of meds, I wasn't real good about taking them at the appropriate time each day. Not quite sure how I improved, but I am happy to report that I am back on track reversing the downward spiral my life was on in May.

One other tidbit, my dr. was more happy about my cholesterol than my CD4 and %.  My LDL Cholesterol dropped from 131 to 108.  He said that was just remarkable.  I guess heavy drinking, smoking, lack of sleep and not eating can help improve your cholesterol..... :)

Finally, a note to those who get discouraged with slow moving numbers, my dr. continually said give it time it will get better and it did.  Of course yesterday he said that this might be my peak.  Regardless I'll take it.

This was true in my husbands case also.  He jumped up over 200 CD4's in 3 months and a few percentage points.

Excellent result - congrats! And good to hear you're not interpreting this result as an endorsement of heavy drinking and smoking...  ;)
