uggh..what?
« on: July 11, 2010, 01:42:30 pm »
so I'm nosey, and I like to know about everything that is wrong with me.  and I like to research things and study them. So I was going over my Western Blot test and something really wierd I noticed, after I was studying the different bands and all that and what causes them to react.  (like did u know p120 are knobs found on the surface of hiv particles that are immature) I thought tha was cool to learn.  But here's where I got thrown off.

It had nothing to do with the bands, and everything to do with the dates.  I was told on the 24th of December that my Elisa had come back positive, so they wanted to do the WB.  so I went in and they drew my blood for it.

But according to my paperwork...the dates show that they drew my western blot test blood at the beginning of december and had my western blot test results in there hand on the 22nd two days BEFORE they even took the blood for the WB.  and a second glance tells me that they claim they took the blood for the WB on 12/8/2009

so I'm looking at this going uh what? LOL. Given in the first place, I didnt even know they were doing an HIV test on me. How did they manage to two both before I knew and then want to draw more blood to do the WB after they already ahd the results?? I am confused. can someone clarify for me please..

When I had my western blot they used blood I had given during my initial test(Elisa) that came back positive.  Could this be the case for you as well?

grr..i just had this big long post typed up and my computer keeps logging me out of everything and making me log back in.

when they told me the elisa was positive, then they took blood for the WB when the WB came back positive then they took blood for the Viral Load test, a week later they called me back in to re-do the viral load test and cd4 count.  (my guess because my CD4 count was so low and my Viral Load, or just they wantd to confirm the low CD4 count of 152)

they drew blood though for the Elisa in Novemeber, my paperwork says Dec 8th.
Thy drew blood for the WB on xmas eve, but my paper shows they already had the results back by the 22nd two days before they took the blood.

the fax stamp at the top of the paper says the results were faxed to my doctor here 12/22/2009 TUE 10:34

and too confirm dates, u can go back into my old posts and see where I mention what days I was in testing and whatnot from when I was first diagnosed.

omg..a thought just hit me....what if I am setting here staring at someone else's lab results.  none of the dates match up with my testing, or when I got my results.  I've been UD the whole time...and have only been presenting a low CD4 count which could be caused by a lot of things..

I just called the hospital and have to call back tommorrow.

alright problem solved..I think LOL

even though they told me they had only done two elisa tests I called them, and they had done two elisa and a western blot before I even knew I had tested positive. (I could understand that, to make sure there right) and then when they called me in they took more blood for another western blot and an aptima.

but it still upsets me they had the results for two weeks and picked xmas eve of all days to tell me.  if they waited that long why couldnt they have waited just a couple more dyas and let me enjoy my xmas instead of spending it in shock and thinking (back then) that I wasn't going to make it thru the next of years.

Ahh ok, cool then (sorta)... for a minute there I thought maybe you were going to tell us you found out you're negative and it was all a big mistake.  Followed by a, "See you suckers lateer!!".

For the record, I once thought they made a big mistake with me.

Is it wrong that I've had my fingers crossed that I've been getting someone else's results for a year?
