Seriously considering taking a trip to Memphis, so what are your thoughts about bringing my husband?

He is negative, on Prep and pretty darn supportive.  Though I am sure he would not mind if I went on my own and let him have few days to himself.

Education is the may be the key to many doors but you need to take the key out of you pocket and actually put it in the lock if you want to walk through the door.

I you want to bring your husband there is no issue at all.  While the majority of the folks who attend AMG are poz, there are other folks who are negative, but nobody cares.  To be honest, except for our Memorial Service, we hardly talk HIV at all.  The whole idea of this gathering is to meet each other, drink too much and do stupid things and have a great time among friends.

Lots of members bring partners, or friends, who are not poz and as I said, nobody cares.  We are there to have fun and reconnect and new friends are always welcome.   ;D ;D ;D

Thanks for asking, Aubie, because I also want to bring my Beloved.

I don't think she'll want to come, as she's not a fan of groups of people she knows, let alone strangers, but I did want to at least be able to offer her an invite so she doesn't think I'm stepping out on her or something.  :o

I've brought my (neg) husband to a prior AMG -- and would be bringing him to Memphis if his work scheduled allowed -- alas, it won't. 
He had a great time in Seattle -- we've had negative folks at every AMG that I've attended.
As Joe pointed out - we don't sit around and discuss HIV -- it's a social connection.  I find that putting actual faces to onscreen personas really helps to enhance interactions on here AND can help lead to giving folks the benefit of the doubt if they say something on here that strikes you the wrong way.......
Bring your husband if you want to!

Thanks- you all are awesome and just spoke with the husband type and he is coming with me!!

Can't wait to meet all these folks I find myself reading their words over and over at odd hours.

My best mate Jen has been to a few AMG's with me, and she fitted in really well and has made life long mates.

She has supported me since my diagnosis, and is one of the team as far as I'm concerned.
